Liu Zongmin assisted Li Zicheng in his continuous victories, and on March 18, 1644, Li Zicheng's peasant army entered Beijing. After entering the capital, Li Zicheng established the Dashun regime, and under such circumstances, Liu Zongmin was given the title of Marquis of Ru, whose duty was to command all the civilian officials under his jurisdiction. At this time, Liu Zongmin's fate had undergone a fundamental change.
Since Li Zicheng established the Dashun regime, under such circumstances, Wu Sangui's family had not yet had time to retreat. After Liu Zongmin's army withdrew from Beijing, it moved around fighting. While passing through Henan, there was a change within the rebel army.
In September 1645, Liu Zongmin led the rebel army to evacuate Jiugong Mountain. During the evacuation, he was ambushed by the enemy. In the end, Liu Zongmin was captured by the enemy during the battle and was brutally killed. Liu Zongmin was only 38 years old when he died. At this time, Liu Zongmin became a military general who was defeated and killed. Because of this, Liu Zongmin's end is not the end of life.
