California is evaluating the need to regulate Tesla's self-driving cars

According to the U.S. Stock Research Agency, the California Motor Vehicle Service said the state is evaluating whether it needs to be on Tesla (TSLA. O) the FSD beta is regulated. The California Department of Motor Vehicles has previously said that Tesla's FSD beta features require human intervention and are therefore not subject to its self-driving car regulations. In a letter to California Senate Transportation Committee Chairman Lena Gonzalez on Friday, the bureau said: "We are reconsidering this decision after recent software updates and videos showing the technology being used dangerously and taking into account public investigations by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and other expert opinions."
