Hohhot, 12 Jan (Xinhua) -- On 11 January, container transport vehicles full of export goods in the Huanyu International Logistics Park in Erenhot City left the Erenhot Highway Port after going through the links of disinfection and inspection. This marks the resumption of part of the road customs clearance business at the largest land port in China and Mongolia.
In October 2021, after the local confirmed cases of new crown pneumonia were found in Erenhot City, the Erenhot Highway Port was temporarily closed due to the needs of epidemic prevention and control.
In order to restore customs clearance at the highway port as soon as possible, Erenhot City has comprehensively upgraded the import and export operation process, software and hardware of the Erenhot Highway Port in accordance with the guidance and supervision requirements of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, the Xilingol League Epidemic Prevention and Control Headquarters and the special class for epidemic prevention and control in port cities.
In the process of comprehensively strengthening prevention and control measures, the local government has set up a special class at the port, delineated the closed-loop control area of the highway port, so that all the operation areas of the fence, video surveillance, infrared alarm system to achieve comprehensive coverage, and the introduction of qualified third-party disinfection companies to comprehensively regulate preventive disinfection.
The local government has also reformed and innovated the customs clearance and inspection mode, and changed the original connection transportation mode to the container lifting transportation mode. At the same time, customs and border inspection have adopted methods such as "resource sharing, mutual assistance in customs inspection, mutual recognition of results, and series transfer and parallel connection" to optimize the inspection process at highway ports, implement non-contact inspections, and comprehensively weave a "safety net" for epidemic prevention and control.
It is understood that in the early stage of resuming customs clearance business at the Erenhot Highway Port, the export of Containers and Commodity Vehicles carried by the Chinese side was carried out, about 30 boxes per day, and the import business was not carried out for the time being.
