From "Sunrise" to "Desire Under the Elm Tree", the opening plays of the two theaters in the Beijing International Theater Center have profound meanings, one was the opening play of the Capital Theatre, and the other is the inheritance of the memory of the Renyi Small Theater. On September 24th, "Desire Under the Elms", which rarely had foreign aid to join, opened the newly completed Renyi Small Theater, and two actors with both strength and idol formed a luxurious lineup of the small theater, interpreting O'Neill's famous plays in the way of human art.
Classics generally do not lack profound criticism, and the follow-up to classics is based on understanding and personalized interpretation. 14 years ago, Renyi once put "Desire Under the Elm Tree" on the stage, when the starring roles were Zheng Tianwei and Wang Lei, for small theaters, the performance at that time has been heavier than other similar small theater repertoire, and today, not only the stage is more textured, the male protagonist Ibn invited the popular stage actor Zheng Yunlong, the production level is far beyond the ordinary small theater repertoire.
Before the official release, the rehearsal of the show had been in a closed state, and it had entered the stage of synth synthesis when it first met with the media. What attracted Zheng Yunlong, in addition to the invitation of the Hall of Humanities Theater, was the classic charm, he had already been exposed to this script when he was in school, so when Vice Dean Feng Yuanzheng showed the bottom card, the cooperation was halfway through.
In the past two years, renyi's small theater has repeatedly joined in strong foreign aid, the last time was Li Youbin, who performed the same world-class classic. This time, Ibn on stage has an exotic style, tall, angular, and cowardly and sensitive in the face of his tyrannical father. He will shake his head handsomely, he will also make a hand-eating gesture when he is helpless, he will be affectionate when he is entangled with his young stepmother Aibi, and he will try to strangle his stepmother several times because of suspicion and suspicion... Different from the usual small theater life performance, the performance amplitude of this play is no different from that of the large theater, and the sense of picture and impact in front of the audience can be called the "ceiling" of the small theater.
This is a play full of lust, there is indulgence and loss of control, for the actor, in addition to the audience's eyes of "open", is the logical line in their hearts. Yu Mingjia, who plays Aibi, was once Cai Wenji on the stage of human art, and this time she played the young stepmother who suddenly burned with her stepson, and even killed her newborn son with her own hands for love. In Yu Mingjia's view, Abi has many faces, facing Ibn, she has a girl's side, a lover's side, a young woman's side, and more a mother's side, and the transformation between these faces is exactly what she wants to show to the audience through her own performance.
With more than 200 seats, the Small Theater of Humanities is a "black box" type theater, with sloping floors, rough walls, and original texture furniture, so that the whole stage is filled with desire and wildness. The audience is close to the actor and can feel the sound of the actor's breathing and even the friction of clothes. Although the play does not have much extensibility in presentation and interpretation, the production level and performance strength have undoubtedly reached the peak of the small theater.
It is reported that this round of performances will be staged until October 17. Among them, from September 24 to October 3, October 9, 10, 16 and 17, Yu Mingjia, Zheng Yunlong and Li Lin starred, and the rest of the scenes starred Zeng Yongyi, Liu Yi and Li Lin.
