This time, "Desire Under the Elm Tree" was chosen as the first performance of the new "Renyi Small Theater", hoping to open the theater with a classic. "Our new theatre is an open and international platform for exchange. Eugene O'Neill is a world-class theater master, and Ren yi should have his place as a classic theater. Ren Ming, director of Beijing Renyi and director of the play, said.
As a world-famous drama that has been performed for a long time, "Desire Under the Elm Tree" is unique in terms of the strength of the play, the height of the play and the intensity of the performance. Ren Ming and Jungle, one is the director of the 2007 version, the other is the actor of the 2007 version, and this co-directing emphasizes the in-depth excavation of this work.
Yu Mingjia, the heroine of the play, Aibi, is a new generation of Qingyi recognized by renyi, "This character in my heart is not a good person or a bad person, she is complex and rich, and she wants to perform every inner level of her." Zheng Yunlong, who co-starred with Renyi for the first time in the play Ibn, said that he has always longed for the stage of Renyi, "Beijing Renyi is the benchmark of the industry, and it is very happy and honorable to be able to perform here." This classic and the character of Ibn are difficult, and a lot of quarrels and outbreaks in the play need to divide the layers and dig out the inner energy and emotions. I put a lot of effort into building characters with my heart. In Zheng Yunlong's view, the classic challenge is that there are too many things it can dig deep into, "even if the play is skilled, it will still find new things in the script." There is a lot of room for the actors in this creative process, and in the cooperation with the director and the opponent, we trust each other, so that we will have a tacit understanding on the stage. ”
