Recently, the PCI-SIG organization today officially released the PCIe 6.0 standard, compared with PCIe 5.0 bandwidth doubled again, reaching 64 GT/s. Since the release of the PCIe 2.0 standard, bandwidth has doubled and increased exponentially from each generation compared to the previous generation. Today, PCIe 6.0 × 16 channels have a bandwidth of 256 GB/s and lower latency than the previous generation.
SSDs using the PCIe 5.0 standard have just been introduced, and graphics cards that support PCIe 5.0 have not yet been released. Intel's 12th generation Core processors bring PCIe 5.0 support for the first time, and the AMD Ryzen™ 7000 series is also expected to support PCIe 5.0 next. The application of the latest PCIe 6.0 standard is expected to wait until three years later.
