The foreign woman was blind for 15 years after being misdiagnosed and only recently regained her sight

According to the British "Mirror" reported on January 11, a mother was blind for no reason for 15 years after the doctor's misdiagnosis, and now she has finally seen the light after surgery.

The mother, Connie Parke, is from Aurora, Colorado, USA. In 2003, Connie felt a halo in her headlights for the first time while driving, so she went to the doctor, who told her she had retinal detachment or glaucoma, and that she would go blind when she could not operate. After this misdiagnosis, her eyesight gradually declined, and her circle of life became smaller and smaller. Connie said: "I didn't believe this fact until I let myself get hurt, I fell down the stairs and almost set myself and the house on fire. In five and a half months, I lost 85% of my vision. In 2004, Connie moved from Montana to Denver, Colorado, attending a school for the blind. Determined not to let her blindness stop her, she continued to do the outdoors she has always loved, such as skating, kayaking, camping, attending sporting events and concerts.

Last year, an ophthalmologist diagnosed her with cataracts, one of the most common vision problems in adults, and surgery is easy and capable of restoring vision. "People [who lose their sight] need to be re-examined because I've been blind for 15 years for no reason and I have a little bit of resentment towards the doctors, but the day they take the blindfold off my eyes, I can see again and all the anger is gone," Connie said.
