In 1950, an old man handed over the books from his son's grave, the party organization: a national first-class cultural relic

One such thing is that in 1950, an old man who was walking and waddling handed over the books from his son's grave to the party organization. Hearing such a thing, people will have a lot of questions, and they will wonder who this old man really is?

The old man's name was Zhang Jueqian, and his family lived in Zhenhai County, Ningbo City, Zhejiang Province. After the founding of New China, the old man worried about his son's safety when he saw that his son, who had participated in the war for several years, had not returned home. After much thought, he made a decision to go to a newspaper in Shanghai and publish a search notice. So, why did the old man publish a search notice? The answer to this question also begins with his second son.

1. Son of Zhang Jueqian

In 1898, Zhang Jueqian's second son was born. Zhang Jueqian named him Zhang Jingquan, also known as Zhang Renya. Zhang Renya was very intelligent and had strong learning ability when he was a child, and his father, Zhang Jueqian, saw the advantages of his second son and decided to cultivate his son into an excellent talent.

Zhang Jueqian sent the young Zhang Renya to a relative's school, and this relative was Zhang Wanhe. Zhang Wanhe was born in Xiucai, but he had a forward-looking vision, advocated enlightened thought, pursued a new type of education, and opposed feudal education. Zhang Wanhe often struggled with people with feudal ideas, and some grumpy people came to the academy to sabotage and smashed the academy into a mess.

Zhang Wanhe did not take these things to heart at all, and still adhered to his own ideological concepts and taught students advanced ideas. Always tell students to be innovative, to know how to be flexible, not to be stubborn. Zhang Wanhe sometimes takes students out to study, enjoy the outdoor scenery, and broaden students' horizons. Sometimes students are taught how to get fit.

In short, under the education of Zhang Wanhe, Zhang Renya's learning ability is different from ordinary people, and he gradually matures mentally.

In 1913, Zhang Renya was admitted to high school, and due to the large number of children in the family, life was very poor. The father worked two jobs to barely survive, and could not come up with more money to provide for the education of multiple children, so Zhang Renya dropped out of school.

Zhang Renya, who graduated from junior high school in 1914, came to Nanjing Road in Shanghai to work as an apprentice at a jewelry store called Lao Feng Xiang Yin Lou. After Zhang Renya studied hard with the silversmith master, he was finally able to make jewelry independently. After that, the craftsmanship became more and more exquisite, and the boss began to pay him a salary, and he lived on the basis of the salary.

Some time later, Zhang Renya met Zhao Yu'e, and the two had the same interests. After a long period of interaction, Zhang Renya married Zhao Yu'e in 1918. However, the good times did not last long, and Zhang Yu'e contracted the disease and died soon after. Since the two had no children, after Zhao Yu'e died, Zhang Renya stayed alone in Shanghai.

Second, Zhang Renya joined the revolution

According to the era at that time, the wages of the workers were low, the working hours were very long, the payment was not proportional to the income, and some bosses withheld the wages of the workers, and all these circumstances added up to produce a workers' movement. At this time in Shanghai, workers often went on strike, and the workers of The Lao Fengxiang Jewelry Store where Zhang Renya was located also began to strike, and Zhang Renya was one of the members of this strike team. Workers hope to increase their income and make a good living by striking. Zhang Renya often participates in the activities held by workers.

In the activity, Zhang Renya made good friends and learned from each other. At the same time, Zhang Renya loved to read, and in the book, he came into contact with revolutionary ideas. In April 1922, Zhang Renya joined the Socialist Communist Youth League. After that, Zhang Renya served as the director of the Shanghai Gold Banking Industry, the Workers' Club.

During his tenure, he fought against the capitalists of the gold and silver industry, gaining some of the benefits for the workers, but he was expelled himself. Shortly thereafter, Zhang Renya successfully joined our party and threw himself into the cause of the revolution, and Zhang Renya was organized and arranged to take up a post at the Commercial Press.

In 1927, the April 12 counter-revolutionary coup began in Shanghai. The whole of Shanghai was panicked and turbulent, and Zhang Renya, who worked in the press, also fell into panic. In order to protect the important objects in the printing house, Zhang Renya returned to his hometown, handed these important objects to his father for preservation, and left in a hurry, once again throwing himself into the revolutionary cause.

Third, the grave is dug out of important documents

Zhang Jueqian was worried every day, afraid that the object would fall into the hands of others, so he lied that his second son Zhang Renya was working outside the home and unfortunately died. In Zhenhai, Ningbo, everyone knows that the second son of Zhang Jueqian's family works in Shanghai and has not returned home for several years. Hearing zhang Renya's sudden death, the villagers did not have any doubts. There were even many enthusiastic people who came to the Zhang family and comforted Zhang Jueqian.

Later, zhang Jueqian hid these important objects in the coffin of his late daughter-in-law Zhao Yu'e for safety. Zhang Jueqian built a new tomb for his second son Zhang Renya and daughter-in-law Zhao Yu'e, and buried Zhang Renya and Zhao Yu'e, who falsely claimed to have died.

After several rounds of fundraising, an empty tomb was repaired for Zhang Renya, and the important objects he brought back were sealed and placed in an empty coffin. After that, Zhang Jueqian guarded the cemetery and important objects, waiting for his son to come back and retrieve them when he needed it.

After Zhang Renya left his hometown, he held an important position in the organization, responsible for intra-party contact, information transmission and document receipt. He was cautious in his work and repeatedly evaded the searches of hostile forces. In 1929, the organization needed a lot of funds, and Zhang Renya, who could make gold and silver jewelry, left Shanghai and arrived in Wuhu, Anhui Province, to open a gold shop and raise a large amount of money for our party.

In 1931, individual members of our Party betrayed the organization, told the enemy the source of funds for the organization's activities, and explained the guerrilla work that Zhang Renya was engaged in. In the face of betrayal, Zhang Renya's enthusiasm for work was not affected. In the autumn of the same year, Zhang Renya was transferred to Ruijin to work, solving many difficult problems for the organization.

In 1932, Zhang Renya was once again transferred from his post to work in the Central Publishing Bureau. At this time, Zhang Renya overcame many obstacles and printed a large number of military books, historical materials, and some publications of geographical knowledge. Let the people in the Ruijin area have books to read, thus promoting the construction and development of the local area.

At the end of 1932, Zhang Renya needed to go to Fujian for a business trip, and Zhang Renya was unwell at this time, still sick from Ruijin. The cold wind on the road whistled, the snow sealed the cottage, resulting in the onset of old diseases, the pain was unbearable, Zhang Renya did not treat in time, and has since passed away. During the war years, the information was relatively closed, and Zhang Jueqian had not been seen for many years since he parted with his second son Zhang Renya in 1928.

Zhang Jueqian has been guarding the secret between himself and his second son and has never told others. In 1950, seeing that his second son had not returned, Zhang Jueqian made an important decision, and he came to the newspaper office of Shanghai's Liberation Daily. He was looking left and right in the newspaper, when a staff member of the newspaper office went up to the old man and asked him if he needed any help. Zhang Jueqian told the newspaper staff that he wanted to publish a search notice to find his son.

At that time, due to the fact that shortly after the end of the war, there were many cases of separation of relatives, and the staff did not regard it as a strange thing. So he helped Zhang Jueqian publish this search notice. After several months of publishing the newspaper, Zhang Jueqian had not received news of his second son, and he immediately understood that his second son Zhang Renya must have been sacrificed. Zhang Jueqian called the third son to him, asked the third son, Zhang Jingmao, to find the party organization in his home, and told the party organization about the second son Zhang Renya's instructions.

Therefore, Zhang Jueqian took a hoe and brought the staff and family of the party organization to Zhang Renya's cemetery in Changshan Gang. After Zhang Jueqian saw the grave of his son Zhang Renya, he silently shed tears, but still together with others, he opened the graveyard of his second son. After some searching, a chest was found in the grave and handed over to the party organization. The staff of the party organization took the dusty box, opened it, and saw that the objects inside were wrapped in oil paper several layers. Upon closer inspection by the staff, they found that the objects were very rare.

There is the only copy of the Constitution of the Communist Party of China in the world, the Communist Manifesto issued in 1920, the resolutions of the Second National Congress of the Central Public Party, and dozens of books. The staff did not dare to be careless, and after consultation, these important items were handed over to the state. After verification, these documents are regarded as national cultural relics, which is of great significance to historical research.

IV. Conclusion

Today, after understanding the course of events, I have a different understanding. Whether it is the old man Zhang Jueqian or the revolutionary martyr Zhang Renya, they are all very remarkable people who have made sacrifices and dedications for the people's happy life.
