The sculptor Deng Le, president of the Sichuan Sculpture Society, has a long history of his relationship with the Olympic Games. As early as 1990, the sculpture "Rising Horizon" created by him participated in the "Second China Sports Art Exhibition" and won a silver medal, which was collected by the Chinese Olympic Committee. "On the occasion of the Winter Olympics, I have the privilege of being able to create sculptures on sports themes again, and I want to present them in a different way than before." Therefore, he chose the emerging art form of dynamic sculpture.
For this creation, Deng Le made a meticulous investigation of the spatial environment of the Flag Raising Square in the Winter Olympic Village, "This work gives the audience a feeling, mainly relying on the picture generated by its rotation and refraction, so the requirements for the environment are particularly high." For example, in which direction the sun rises, how much angle it shines on the sculpture, and where the flagpole is located, all need to be taken into account. He set the bending angle of each mirror to 25°, so that the flag reflected on the mirror surface was just able to produce a rising visual effect as the device rotated.

The sculpture contains more than a dozen mirror installations over 5 meters high, which form an arrayed layout in a staggered manner, slowly rotating at a speed of one turn per minute. In order to achieve the best visual effect, Deng Le also uses computer software to simulate. "This is a work that blends, resonates and resonates with the environment, which expresses the love of sports in all countries and regions in the world, and also conveys the immortality of the Olympic spirit."
In the water system of the urban green heart forest park in Tongzhou District, there is also a new public art work "Boat" created for the Winter Olympics. It looks like a light boat with a leaf representing "in the same boat", and it is also like a feather, an olive leaf symbolizing peace and friendship. Looking closer, the sculpture is made up of many cobblestone-like ceramic particles. Co-ordinated by sculptors Zhang Mian and Xi Min of the China Academy of Arts, it is one of the best works selected by the Beijing Winter Olympics public art collection.

"This work, which we have been creating for more than a year, is installed by thousands of ceramic monomer particles, each of which is hand-fired at a high temperature of 1350 degrees Celsius." Zhi Min told reporters that the ceramic monomer particles of "Boat" use the color system of the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games, with the gradient of blue such as the main color of Tianji Blue and the intercolor of ice blue, as the color of different particles to intersperse and arrange, with a total of nineteen colors.
"Ceramics are traditional Chinese crafts, and for thousands of years we have wanted to create works of art for the Winter Olympics: it has both an international language and a deep Chinese cultural heritage." Considering the form and image of the "boat", the experts finally selected the place on the surface of the lake to place it to echo the relationship between the artwork and the environment. In order to adapt to the environment, the shape of the artwork itself has also been adjusted accordingly, and the overall form of "Boat" tends to be more gentle, and the position of the combination with the water surface is lower and more consistent.
