According to the "Second-hand Fashion Consumption List for the Second Half of 2021" released by the second-hand fashion platform Red Brin on January 10, the current economic trends and demographic data show that China's lower-tier cities are becoming a new driving force for China's consumption growth, because the growth of disposable income and a wider range of products and services have benefited more users in the sinking market.

Judging from the geographical data covered by the red Bollinger platform, fashion has no boundaries. Users in sinking markets such as Mohe in Heilongjiang, Chama Middle Street in Derge County, Ganzi Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture in Sichuan Province, Awati in Bachu County, Kashgar Prefecture, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, Gangmen Village in Jiyang District, Sanya City, Hainan Province, and Weiyuan Town, Changshun County, Qiannan Buyi and Miao Autonomous Prefecture in Guizhou Province, are also "embracing" second-hand fashion.

In the view of some industry insiders, compared with mature and highly saturated first- and second-tier cities, the sinking market in the future may become an important position for second-hand fashion consumption.

The reporter noted that starting from second-hand luxury goods, after young people tasted the sweetness of buying second-hand, their acceptance of second-hand products extended to domestic products. Judging from the big data of the Red Bollinger platform, in the second half of 2021, the consumer enthusiasm of users for domestic brands has increased. "Domestic products breaking defense" has become another boom in second-hand fashion consumption. In the consumption list of red Brin in the second half of the year, Ordos, Laomiao Gold, Chow Tai Fook, etc. have become the domestic brands preferred by users. The growth rate of domestic product circulation in the second-hand market means that users' awareness and tolerance of second-hand commodity consumption are constantly expanding.

Li Ling, head of the Red Brin brand, told reporters that in fact, as early as December 2019, the number of consignments of domestic brands in Red Brin had a relatively high peak; and in the second half of 2021, the user's love for domestic products was more obvious, creating a new peak. The data shows that in the second half of 2021, the number of Chinese brand consignments on the Red Brin platform increased by 31% compared with the second half of 2020, and the number of buyers purchased increased by 29% year-on-year, and these consumers were mainly post-90s and post-00s users, and more than 80% of buyers and sellers were female users.

Carefully study the reasons for the peak of domestic products in 2019, mainly in 2018, domestic brands such as Li Ning and PEACEBIRD gradually moved towards international fashion week brands, which caused strong repercussions on the international stage, and since then domestic products have begun to receive more and more attention from young people.

The popularity of domestic brands has extended from comprehensive platforms to second-hand platforms, so in 2019, there was a peak in domestic consumption on the Red Bollinger platform. In Li Ling's view, the reason behind the peak in the second half of 2021 is still because consumers have awareness of domestic products, the rise of domestic brands in the past two years is very obvious, which is the overall development of domestic products in the environment, such as Hongxing Erke, which was particularly hot last year, because some domestic brands have outstanding performance in domestic large and small events, and pulled a lot of goodwill in the hearts of young people.

According to the "Research Report on China's Idle High-end Consumer Goods Retail Industry" released by iResearch, the scale of China's idle high-end consumer goods market has grown from 16.2 billion in 2016 to 51 billion in 2020 with the blessing of live e-commerce, and it is expected that this figure will reach 208 billion yuan in 2025. At the same time, the stock of 2.87 trillion yuan of idle high-end consumer goods has also laid the foundation for the long-term development of the industry in the future.
