The Mercy of the Heavy Color Dunhuang Series
The year of the traditional "tiger" is approaching, and Liu Yang, a full-time painter of the Shandong Academy of Painting, launched the "Ruihu Chengxiang" solo exhibition in Jinan at the right time, with more than 90 works depicting various forms of the tiger, including gongbi paintings, freehand paintings, and innovative ink paintings.
China's "tiger culture" is rich in accumulation, which not only represents vitality, auspiciousness and extraordinary temperament, but also combines with China's dragon culture, representing a grand atmosphere of "dragon leaping tiger leap" and "hidden dragon crouching tiger", penetrating into many aspects such as aesthetics and values. Tiger painting is an important part of tiger culture, and there have been many famous tiger painters in China throughout the ages. Liu Yang grew up with tiger painting, and after becoming a professional painter, he took the tiger as a major theme of his own creation, studied carefully, studied the fine tiger paintings of famous artists in the past, and often observed sketches. His tiger "snow teeth double copper qing", or roaring or running, or young or alone, or looking up, or looking at the distance, or looking pleasant, or majestic, or cute, with different postures, lines, pen and ink have considerable skill.
Among them, the "Heavy Color Dunhuang" series of works uses the traditional brushwork and heavy color technique to integrate the understanding of Dunhuang murals, thinking about life and art, and reshapes the creation; the new ink tiger series works break through the traditional tiger painting mode to a greater extent from composition and brush and ink, and the painting language is more modern. Both forms of works have won the love of many audiences. In Liu Yang's view, the tiger not only has the overlord temperament of "Li Ba Shan Qi Qi", but also a cute and cute Beast, "Tiger" and "Fu" harmonic sounds, Tiggo Chengxiang, borrow tiger paintings, send blessings, and wish the audience a happy Year of the Tiger.
