Let's talk about Jinan Yuhan Mountain

Text | Zhang Jiping

Yuhan Mountain, Jinan people know, or because of this, so many Jinan people have been.

Yuhan Mountain was called "Hanshan Mountain" in the Tang, Song and Yuan dynasties. According to the Tang Dynasty Duan Chengshi", "Youyang Miscellaneous Tricks , Volume 16" records: "There are birds in The HanShan Mountains of Qi County. "What does this bird look like?" The book says "foot green, red mouth, yellow wing, daisy", this bird "famous queen mother messenger". Why is this bird said to be the messenger of the Queen Mother of the West? In myths and legends, the Queen Mother of the West herself is very ugly, and the Classic of Mountains and Seas and the Classic of the West Mountain says: "The Queen Mother of the West is like a human, with a leopard's tail and tiger teeth and a good whistle, and her hair is beautiful." "She has a thick tail, big interlaced teeth, and fluffy hair like a daisy bird. Therefore, her messenger is also a god bird with red beaks, green claws, and yellow wings. According to legend, this Western Queen Mother has always been generous to Emperor Wu of Han, and the "Inner Biography of Emperor Wu of Han" tells a story that one year on the seventh day of July, she personally cooked for Emperor Wu of Han to eat, and gave Emperor Wu of Han seven jade peaches and a Hetian jade plate, and gave Emperor Wu of Han a "song of "Magnolia", known as "The Jade is Brilliant, Scorching its Glory." If I have not returned, I will regret it afterwards." The Song Dynasty Liu Songnian's "Yaochi Xianshou Tu" (now in the National Palace Museum in Taipei) depicts the scene of this story.

Let's talk about Jinan Yuhan Mountain

(Dai Sheng Bird)

Continue the story: In 110 BC, when Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty went to Mount Tai to seal Zen and ascended The Yuhan Mountain (which was not yet the name Ha at that time), "Got the Yuhan, five inches long." The (Han Wu) Emperor descended the mountain, and Yuhan suddenly turned into a white bird and flew away. There is a royal mother medicine letter on the mountain, often ordering the white bird to keep it", because the name is "HanShan" (Yuan Dynasty Yu Qin's "Qi Cheng, Volume I, Jinan Mountain"). The so-called "Queen Mother Medicine Letter" is the Hetian Jade Jade Box that the Queen Mother of the West gave to Emperor Wu of Han to contain health medicines. The use of jade health was very popular in the Han Dynasty, which shows that it is not unrelated to the Queen Mother of the West. After Emperor Wu of Han sealed Zen at Mount Taishan and ascended to the Yuhan Mountain to return to the palace, he immediately changed the era name to "YuanFeng", and used October of that year (Xin Wei) as the first year of YuanFeng (110 BC), "Yuan" refers to the first time, "Feng" refers to the emperor dengtai Mountain to sacrifice to the heavens, and "Zen" refers to the sacrifice place to Liang Father (in present-day xintai Laishan Mountain, now known as Ying foshan).

Yuhan Mountain was not only called "Hanshan Mountain", but also "Lying Buddha Mountain" (see Daoguang "Chronicle of Jinan Province"), because there was also a statue of Bixia Yuanjun lying down in the Tang Dynasty and a Bixia Palace (see 1928 "Licheng County Rural Survey Record") and named after it; Yuhan Mountain is also called "Thousand Buddha Rock" (Dai 畎 [quǎn, Field] Tujing: Hanshan "also known as the Rock of a Thousand Buddhas"); because there is a Song Dynasty Xinglong Temple built on the east side of the mountain, and the east side has "Xinglong Village" named after the temple. Local villagers also call it "Xinglong Mountain". However, since the Ming and Qing dynasties. The majority of people in Jinan are still accustomed to calling this mountain "Yuhan Mountain".

Yuhan Mountain is more than 520 meters above sea level, which is a high mountain in the southern suburbs of Jinan. Yuhan Mountain "has Ruizhu Spring in the south and HuashanYu in the northeast of the mountain, which is one of the famous scenic spots in lixia" ("Licheng County Rural Survey Record"). From the Yuan Dynasty (later) to the sixth year of the Yuan Dynasty (1340), on November 13, the squire Li Zhi of Jinan, together with various officials and 14 people from his party, climbed the Yuhan Mountain and stood on the top of the mountain, "Looking north at the Plain Domain like a vegetable garden medicine, and the northeast overlooking the city of Furuo, and the Que and Hua Mountains, list the ups and downs, such as the archers, and the belief in wonders" ("Youhan Shanxi YuJi").

The Ming Dynasty emperor Yu Shenxing once wrote a poem "Yuhan Mountain Overlook", Yun: "Daizong Zhibei Yuhan Kai, Seafarer (hiker) came by spring waddle (juē, grass shoes). The pine fir on the cliff contains the treasure phase, and the cloud qi of the middle peak comes out of the incense table. The smoke of the ten thousand wells by the lake moved, and the two rivers in the city practiced shadow back. The blue bird does not return to the vulture, and the fairy trail Buddha wanders twice. "'Daizong Zhibei' means that Yuhan Mountain is directly north of Mount Tai." "Waddling" refers to the difficulty of climbing the mountain; "pine fir on the cliff" refers to the pine fir tree on the cliff, "Zhongfeng Cloud Out of the Incense Platform" means "purple smoke from the incense burner in the sunshine"; the two sentences of "lakeside" refer to standing on the top of the mountain and seeing the scene of Jinan City. "Immortal Buddha Land" refers to the Yuhan Mountain is the Dao, the land of the Buddha (the Queen Mother of the West, the Bixia Yuanjun is a Taoist myth, and the Buddha Yu is the sacred place of the Buddha).

As a tourist attraction in Jinan, Yuhan Mountain has a very rich cultural connotation, and the literati and inkers of the past generations have inscribed it. When the Jin Yuan scholar Yuan Haowen visited Jinan for the second time in July 1235, he once overlooked yuhan mountain in the distance from the North Zhu Pavilion in Jinan, and he wrote: Yuhan Mountain is "twenty miles long, the mountain has ninety valleys, and the northern foothills of Mount Tai are also ... When the sky clears and ascends to the north, it is faintly seen."

During the Northern Song Dynasty before him, Chao Shuzhi, one of the "Four Scholars of Sumen", had a fondness for Yuhan Mountain when he was serving as the Tai Punctual of Qizhou, and after being sentenced to a sentence by Yu county (present-day Bozhou District, Anhui), he still remembered Yuhan Mountain in Jinan after tea and wine, and once after drinking he wrote a poem "Yuhan Mountain remembered by Yuhan Mountain for Wine", shiyun: "Do not send the West Building to this mountain, Song Chen frequently embellished the deputy title." This year's heavy stain on the flower front wine, like the Yangzhou don't drive shirt. "After the Song and Yuan dynasties, the famous scholars and literary heroes praised Yuhan Mountain endlessly, and Li Panlong, Yu Shenxing, Zhu Zengchuan, Zhu Zhuo, Fang Qiying, Zheng Ming, Wang Chutong, Dong Yun, Wang Derong, etc., all left immortal poems praising Yuhan Mountain.
