Recently, Matez Kanik, game director of Cyberpunk 2077, announced his departure from CDPR in a tweet: "Some things have ended, and new things will start again." At the same time, he said he spent several weeks studying Unity after resigning.
Kanik has been with CDPR for 15 years and is a veteran developer. After joining CDPR in 2006, he began working as the designer of the Wizard 1 game and was involved in the development of the cancelled Wizard: Rise of the White Wolf.
Kanik was later promoted to chief game designer for The Witcher 2, and from 2012 to 2016, he led the development of Cyberpunk 2077.
