BOE may change the B12 phase III production line: power 15-inch panel

According to the news of the core research institute on January 9, according to the media Thelec reported by CINNO Research, BOE changed the application of the third-phase production line of the Chongqing B12 factory to OLED for smartphones, IT and vehicles. Initially, the phase III line was designed to produce sixth-generation (1500x1850mm) flexible organic light-emitting diode (OLED) panels, typically for smartphones, just like existing phases I and II.

BOE is preparing to produce 15-inch OLED panels from the third phase of the B12 plant that changed the design, and in addition, on the third phase of the production line, a two-layer tandem structure has been applied to extend product life by stacking two OLED light-emitting layers.

It is worth mentioning that from the BOE official, on December 28 last year, the 6th generation AMOLED (flexible) production line project in Chongqing, which was built by BOE at a cost of 46.5 billion yuan, held a mass production and customer delivery ceremony, and officially announced mass production. BOE has laid out 6 key projects in Chongqing, including the 6th generation AMOLED (flexible) production line, the 8.5th generation TFT-LCD production line, and the BOE Chongqing Intelligent System Innovation Center, with a cumulative investment of more than 86 billion yuan.

Liu Xiaodong, president of BOE, said at the mass production ceremony that in the current era of informatization and digitalization, the new application markets such as intelligent mobile terminals, smart wearable devices and intelligent networked vehicles have shown an explosive growth trend, bringing strong demand for high-end display technology products such as flexible displays. According to Sigmaintell data, BOE's flexible display shipments rank first in the domestic industry and second in the world.
