The families of 2 Xinzhuang Middle School students, 4 Gaozhuangzi Primary School students, and 4 custody class students were associated with confirmed case 1. The students of Xinzhuang Middle School and Gaozhuangzi Primary School are both close contacts of confirmed case 1, and the families of students in the 4 custody classes belong to the second close contact.

Intra-school transmission chains associated with confirmed case 2:

Seven students of Xianshuigu No. 7 Primary School (including confirmed case 2) are classmates of confirmed case 2.

Tianjin Municipal Epidemic Prevention and Control Headquarters, at present, the new coronavirus infected by confirmed cases 1 and 2 belong to the VOC/Omicron variant (BA.1 evolutionary branch), which belongs to the same transmission chain, but the specific source is still unknown, and the sequence of the Aomi Kerong variant previously found in Tianjin cannot be confirmed as the same transmission chain.

Zhang Ying, deputy director of the Tianjin Municipal Center for Disease Control and Prevention, said at a press conference on epidemic prevention and control that no history of the first two cases was found to have a history of living outside Tianjin.
