Bayeri

Bayeux Temple is located in the September Mountains of Bayeri, Anyue County, South Hwanghae Province, by a stream at the foot of the mountain on the southeast side. Legend has it that it was built in 806 by Master Nine Leaf, when the temple was named Hanshan Temple. After that, Master Nine Leaves came to India, and the temple contained the Baye Sutra, so the name of the temple was changed to Baye Temple, and master Nine Leaves was renamed Master Baye.

Bayeri Morning

Bayeux Temple was destroyed by bombing during the June 25 War, and only the ruins remain. It is said that the temple has three prides, one is the tower-like majestic form of the Hanshan Hall (the Daxiong Hall of Baye-ji Temple), the wooden plank that holds the Lotus Sutra (Buddhist sutra), and the last is the wooden mask (cover made of wood) used by Master Bayeux.

The Bayeri Farmhouse

Regarding the wooden mask, there used to be such a story: because Master Baye was handsome, all the women who came to the temple would take the opportunity to look at him more. One day, Silla's popular beauty Beauty (this woman is the most beautiful in the world, loved by king Heungdeok at that time) came to the temple, and when they looked at each other, they were invariably surprised by each other's beauty. Beauty's ambition to melt Master Bayeux surged into her heart like a fire, so she tentatively asked: "The master has been practicing for 30 years and has a high reputation, what about the desire of the body"?

Early Autumn in Bayeri

When the master replied, "If you can comprehend the state of patience, you don't have to say much." Although Meimei felt ashamed, she continued to ridicule: "Master, why don't we go to the Moon Palace to chant poems and spend a good night together?" Master Bayeux broke the branches of the maple tree and said calmly, "The famous prostitute actually increases the shame of the flower." If the safflower withers, the petals will immediately turn black, and if there is water, the petals will rot immediately." Beauty blushed with shame after hearing this.

The next day, After leaving a note that reads, "Master, be sure to cover the face of the woman in this land," Beauty travels to Seoul (Gyeongju). Later, the story spread widely, and the mahan villagers planted 1,000 maple trees around bayeux temple. They want distraught people to look at the maple tree and understand what shame is. It is said that it was also after that incident that Master Bayeux began to wear a wooden mask and no longer saw people in a handsome appearance.

King Xingde: Surname Jin, name Xiuzong, also known as Xiusheng, later changed to Jinghui, its time name was Xingde. He was the half-brother of the 42nd monarch of the Silla Kingdom, the 39th King Chosung (reigned 799-800) and the 41st King Hyundeok (reigned 809-826), and was posthumously honored as Queen Dingmu's daughter Ofemun(長明王皇后) in 826. The Chronicle of the Three Kingdoms records that Lady Zhanghe died, the king fell into grief, and the ministers asked to welcome the new princess, but King Xingde did not accept it, and even the maids did not accompany him. However, according to records, after entering the Yuechi Palace in 822 (the 14th year of King Xiande's reign), Jin Zhonggong's daughter Zhenjiao was made a princess, and in 827 (2 years of King Xingde' reign) Emperor Wenzong of tang Dynasty (reigned 827-840) gave King Xinxingde's mother Park Shi the title of grand concubine. But it is unclear whether this is the Tang Dynasty's erroneous record of the mother and princess surnames of King Xingde, or whether King Xingde's new greeting of the princess. It is also not possible to confirm the children. King Xingde reigned for eleven years, forty miles north of present-day Ankang Province.
