On January 6, Baidu and Jidu announced that the first mass-produced model of the Jidu brand will be equipped with NVIDIA DRIVE Orin SoC (System-on-Chip), thus making Jidu's first model an automotive robot capable of L4 autonomous driving. It is reported that the concept version of the first model will be officially unveiled at the Beijing Auto Show in April this year, while the mass production model is expected to be launched in 2023.
According to previous information, Jidu's first model will be jointly built by Baidu and Geely, based on Geely's Vast SEA intelligent evolution experience architecture. At the Baidu AI Developer Conference held on December 27, 2021, Robin Li, founder, chairman and CEO of Baidu, said that Jidu's automotive robot runs through the three product concepts of "free movement, natural communication and self-growth". First, the car robot has the L4 level of automatic driving ability, can move freely; second, the accurate recognition of human-vehicle interaction and speech semantics, so that the car and people can "naturally communicate", understand user emotions, and respond to user needs in real time; third, the car robot can continuously optimize automatic driving and intelligent cockpit experience according to the user's habits of self-learning and iteration, and achieve "self-growth".

The system covers the global automatic driving scenario, providing safe and reliable automatic driving functions in high-speed, urban open roads. The Jidu Intelligent Driving System is provided by Baidu Autonomous Driving Computing Platform and NVIDIA DRIVE Orin with hardware and computing power, and the software and algorithms are jointly developed by Jidu and Baidu.
Not long ago, Jidu also disclosed the latest progress of automotive robots, on December 30, 2021, Jidu for automotive robot development software integration simulation prototype JiDU SIMUCar has successfully integrated urban, high-speed domain intelligent driving functions. At the same time, Jidu also said that the first model can be fully provided to users with the experience of autonomous driving when delivered, rather than being delivered through OTA iteration.
