Witnesses found this incredible sight inside Florida's Everglades National Park. The 4-meter-long Burmese python devoured an American alligator, and then the python's body suddenly cracked, and the crocodile struggled to escape from the python's stomach.

A smart animal like an alligator can lower its heart rate to 2 to 3 beats per minute so that the python thinks it's dead. Burmese pythons develop their own feeding strategies by assessing the heartbeat of their prey, so they are tricked by alligators into thinking that their prey is lifeless. After the python swallowed the alligator's head, shoulders and forelimbs, the crocodile fought back, mercilessly attacking its opponents from the inside out. The crocodile attack was powerful enough to blow up the python's stomach, and finally both animals died in the water.
Frank Mazzoti, a wildlife professor at the University of Florida, said of the incredible battles between reptiles: "Obviously, if pythons can kill alligators, they can also kill other kinds of crocodiles.
