Industry insiders generally believe that in 2022, the exploration of the digital yuan will enter the full test stage, and the application ecology and transaction scale of the digital yuan are expected to be greatly improved.
The Digital Yuan (pilot version) App was officially launched
On January 4, the digital yuan (pilot version) application was officially launched on apple's AppStore and Android app stores, triggering a hot discussion in the market.
According to the official introduction, the Digital Yuan (Pilot Edition) App is the official service platform for the pilot of Digital Yuan, a legal tender currency in China, providing the opening and management of digital yuan personal wallets and the exchange and circulation of digital yuan. The digital yuan is still in the regular testing stage of the R&D process, and the whitelist users of the pilot areas selected by the designated operating institutions of the digital yuan can register for this app.

The further promotion of the digital yuan will also usher in new market demand and development opportunities for the payment system industry chain.
Meituan pilots "takeaway" payment scenarios
On January 5, residents of the national digital currency pilot cities can already pay for meals through digital yuan when ordering takeaway food on the Meituan App and the Meituan takeaway App, which is the first important move of the digital yuan scene support institutions since the pilot version of the digital yuan app was officially launched on the major application markets on January 4.
It is understood that the pilot areas that have opened the Meituan takeaway scene include: Beijing, Shanghai, Shenzhen, Chengdu, Xi'an, Suzhou, Changsha, Dalian, Qingdao, Xiong'an New Area, Zhangjiakou and parts of Hainan Province. In addition, pilot areas that have opened the Meituan food shopping scene include Beijing, Shanghai and Shenzhen.
How do I order takeout in digital yuan? The reporter's actual measurement found that after opening the digital wallet of the operating agency, click "sub-wallet" - "Add sub-wallet", select "Meituan", push the sub-wallet to the Meituan App, and you can see the digital YUAN payment option on the takeaway payment page.
The reporter also noted that as a digital yuan scene support agency, Meituan has long participated in the digital yuan pilot, in September last year, Meituan had focused on the green low-carbon travel scene, in Beijing, Shanghai, Hainan, Shenzhen, Suzhou and other 9 major digital yuan pilot areas simultaneously launched the first digital yuan carbon neutral pilot - Meituan bicycle digital yuan pilot activities; in December of the same year, Meituan announced to further expand the digital yuan carbon neutrality pilot, on the Meituan platform, as long as it is to participate in green and low-carbon consumption behavior, All will receive a certain amount of digital yuan rewards.

Tencent added a digital RMB payment channel
On January 6, after the previous multi-stage controllable pilot, Tencent began to provide users with digital yuan services, and users can open WeBank (WeChat Pay) digital yuan wallets.
The reporter's actual experience found that it is very simple to open a digital RMB WeChat wallet, first select WeBank (WeChat Pay) in "Open or Add Digital Wallet", keep the mobile phone number consistent with the WeChat binding number, you can successfully open the wallet. Then, through real-name verification, you can use digital yuan in WeChat.

The reporter noted that in the WeChat interface, the WeChat Pay "Wallet" page of the real-name open user has added a "digital yuan" entrance; the WeChat "receipt and payment" page has also added a "use digital yuan payment" option.
