From April 1st, no points will be deducted for speeding below 20%!

On December 27, the Ministry of Public Security officially announced the review and approval of the revised Measures for the Administration of Scoring of Road Traffic Safety Violations, and the new regulations will be implemented from April 1, 2022. Among them, the most directly related changes to drivers are the changes in the speeding violation deduction policy.

From the above table, it can be intuitively seen that in the past, if it was in the "more than 10%, less than 20%" speeding range, it was necessary to deduct 3 points, and after the adjustment on April 1, whether it was a high-speed and urban expressway, or an ordinary road, this speeding range would no longer deduct points.

On ordinary roads on non-high-speed and urban expressways, the deduction of more than 20% of speeding has also been halved. Among them, the deduction points for speeding more than 50% have been reduced from 12 points to 6 points; the deduction points for speeding 20-50% have been reduced from 6 points to 3 points.

It should be noted that the new policy announced so far has only adjusted the intensity of the deduction, and in addition to the deduction, the speeding violation is usually accompanied by a fine. However, the intensity of the speeding fine varies from region to region, and there are fines ranging from 50-2000 yuan according to the degree of speeding. Therefore, the fine piece also has to pay attention to whether the local government will adjust the previous fine policy at that time.

In addition to the changes in the speed deduction policy, the new policy also adjusts the deduction of points for some other violations. These include a deduction of 12 points to 9 points for driving a motor vehicle that does not conform to the type of quasi-driving vehicle; a reduction from 3 points to 1 point for violating prohibition signs and prohibition marking instructions; and an increase from 2 points to 3 points for driving a motor vehicle that hinders safe driving, such as dialing and answering handheld phones. Where the circumstances of the traffic violation are minor and a warning is given, points are waived. Although the implementation of the New Deal is more humane and more in line with the actual situation of the current road participants, as a driver, everyone must remember to drive safely!
