Guo Wei was born in 904, although his father Guo Jian once served as an assassin, but because the five generations are notoriously chaotic, Guo Jian was assassinated by his opponents within a few years of being a thorn, resulting in Guo Wei becoming an orphan at the age of a few years old, and he could only rely on his mother for his life, struggling to live in that chaotic world, and Guo Wei also successfully grew into a big man in this difficult environment.
When Guo Wei was eighteen years old, he went to join the army, because of his tall and strong physique, he was directly incorporated into the general's guards, usually doing things debauchery, but paying great attention to faith and righteousness, and was very loved and trusted by people. At that time, there was a butcher in the city, relying on his lifelong brute force, bullying and dominating the market on the street, causing the people to complain, and Guo Wei went directly to the trouble of the butcher after hearing about it.
At first, it was an excuse to let that one butcher cut all kinds of meat, and after cutting it, he said no, and when he said it, he began to scold, and that one butcher, because he was afraid of Guo Wei's force, at first he tried to tolerate it, but then he couldn't bear it, so he directly pointed to his stomach and said: "If you really have the guts, then poke me in from here!" ”
Guo Wei also felt very strange when he heard it: "You actually want to find your own death?" Then I can only fulfill you", so I directly stabbed the butcher to death, which is also the prototype of the story of Lu Ti's beating of Zheng Butcher in "Water Margin", but the author has modified it with some literary modifications. Guo Wei was originally arrested and imprisoned for killing people, but because the local official Li Jitao respected his courage and released him, he was used more seriously.
Later, Li Jitao was suppressed by Later Tang, and Guo Wei became the personal guard of Later Tang Zhuangzong, and then began to lead the army alone, because of his previous fame and real ability, he soon had a powerful pro-army composed of three thousand elite soldiers, and it was with this team that he crossed the battlefield in that chaotic world, making himself a powerful contribution, and helped Liu Zhiyuan establish the Hou Han in 947.
Because Guo Wei had the merit of assisting in the founding of the country, he was also entrusted with a heavy responsibility in the Later Han Dynasty, becoming a great general in charge of the military power of the whole country, and after Liu Zhiyuan's death, Liu Chengyou, who succeeded to the throne, although he relied on Guo Wei to quell many rebellions, was jealous because Guo Wei had heavy troops in his hands, so he gave Guo Wei's enemies a secret holy decree and ordered him to execute Guo Wei.
However, that was actually just an illusion specially set up by Guo Wei in order to protect himself, the so-called enemy family was actually his good friend, so this secret decree came to Guo Wei's hands, he was furious after seeing it, and wanted to immediately raise an army to destroy hou Han, but suffering from no good excuse to mobilize his soldiers, at this time, one of his soldiers quietly added 7 words to the holy will, making "killing the great general Guo Wei" into "killing the great general Guo Wei and his three thousand Guo family army".
Guo Wei then read this revised copy of the Holy Will to all the soldiers under his command, which made the three thousand Guo family troops excited, and at that time they all clamored to kill the Later Han Emperor Liu Chengyou, and Guo Wei also led the army to successfully destroy the Later Han and establish the Later Zhou, and the world changed hands from then on.
