Focusing on the real problems faced by these doctors and patients, the Shanghai Municipal Science and Technology Commission's "Science and Technology Innovation Action Plan" science popularization special funding, Fudan University Affiliated Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospital and Cu Ding Film and Television Culture Company jointly produced the women's health science micro-film "Life and Death Beyond", which premiered at the Shanghai International Fashion Center on January 5, 2022, and will be broadcast on the whole network from now on for the public to watch for free.
At the same time, the derivative drama of "Life and Death Beyond", the series of micro-videos of "The Obstetrics and Gynecology "Accident" of the Comic Newsroom" will also be broadcast on the whole network at the same time. The series of micro-videos has a total of 20 episodes, each episode is 3 minutes long, with the heroine's "troubles" in obstetrics and gynecology after returning to the workplace as the main plot line, inserting the point-to-point popular science interpretation of authoritative experts in the hospital, and comprehensively breaking through the "preaching" mode of traditional health education.

According to the main creative team, the micro-film "Life and Death Beyond" adopts a multi-line narrative technique, with the difficult cases encountered by Dr. Zhang Jianguo, an authoritative expert in gynecology, as the plot line, vividly portraying the image of a doctor who takes the patient first and constantly makes self-breakthroughs, and the image of patients who fear the disease but still choose to face bravely, and perspectives the hot topics such as workplace pressure, doctor-patient relationship, and intergenerational contradictions, triggering empathetic trust.
"The popular science of this film is to open a case to us to see the entire content of diagnosis and treatment, the most wonderful thing is the discussion and collision of opinions on cases between different departments, reflecting the common resistance faced by doctors and patients, and also allowing us to see the helplessness and efforts of doctors in the face of difficult and complicated diseases, to a certain extent, showing the advantages of professional forces in the vertical field content production level." Filming a medical drama is not simple. According to the hospital, "Life and Death Beyond" from theme planning to script creation to participation in the film, after nearly a year of fine polishing, overcome many "difficult" points, and strive to make "science popularization" really go to the hearts of the audience.
The first difficulty is "authenticity". Director Lu Zhiyuan said in the on-site interview that the producer attaches great importance to the points of popular science, and has done a lot of homework in this regard, and finally made the finished film not only take into account the requirements of the review, but also truly reflect the whole process of the operation, giving the audience a complete viewing experience.
The second difficulty is "cooperation". Interface News learned that there are nearly 40 medical teams involved in the production of the film, in addition to professional actors in the film, there are many roles played by expert doctors, such as Dr. Hua, professor of obstetrics and gynecology, Dr. Zhou, professor of pathology, and Dr. Zhang, who are played by Professor Hua Keqin, Professor Zhou Xianrong and Professor Zhang Guofu of the Affiliated Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospital of Fudan University. In order to let everyone better cooperate and coordinate, and collide with more wonderful sparks in a relatively tight time, the production team has invested a lot of effort.
The third difficulty is "deduction". In "Life and Death Beyond", the protagonist Dr. Zhang Jianguo is played by the famous actor Bi Yuanjin, who said that it is not a small challenge to interpret the male protagonist "Lao Zhang", an "atypical" doctor with cold and heat on the inside. At the same time, as a professional actor, the collision with several "famous doctors" during filming is also very interesting.
"I've played a lot of roles before, but I haven't tried a doctor, and then the director thought I was okay, so he decided to try it, work hard from the actor's point of view, let the audience test our results, and make a little contribution to medical science." Bi Yuanjin said.
He Jiaji, director of the Science Popularization Department of the Shanghai Municipal Science and Technology Commission, said after watching the film that the film takes the story as the carrier and creates dramatic conflicts with a fascinating plot, and in a limited time, the knowledge of cervical cancer science is well integrated into the plot, full of humanity, and the purpose of life education is achieved.
"The true meaning of popular science is easy to understand, and it is not easy for ordinary people to understand it." Over the years, when I worked, I met a lot of patients, many of them are middle and advanced diseases, our professional colleagues know that early tumor detection, early intervention, early screening, in order to treat early, so that patients can see the hope of life, so now we want everyone to establish the concept of regular physical examination, so that the effect of our science popularization may be better. In fact, in terms of women's health science, this is not the first innovation of the Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospital affiliated to Fudan University. In 2017, the "Good Voice of Science Popularization" activity, led by Professor Hua Keqin of the Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospital affiliated to Fudan University, achieved a record of 2 million live broadcasts and 340,000 popular science readings. In 2019, his series of anime videos "Cervical Cancer and Its "Nemesis", which was first launched on Weibo, received 340 million views, and the topic created by the video on Weibo, "Who is susceptible to cervical cancer", rushed to the 4th place in Weibo's hot search on the same day.
"Although the form and the content are different, what we want to express is the same."
