Shenyang, 5 Jan (China News Network) -- On 5 January, the "China Sports Lottery" Liaoning Province and Shenyang City celebrated the 30-day countdown series of the Beijing Winter Olympic Games and the opening ceremony of the first Liaoning Provincial Youth Winter Games, which were held at the ice rink of the National Fitness Center in Shenyang Heping District.
The event was hosted by Liaoning Provincial Sports Bureau, Liaoning Provincial Sports Development Center, Shenyang Municipal Sports Bureau, Shenyang Heping District Government, co-organized by Liaoning Ice and Snow Sports Association, Shenyang Ogilvy Sports Culture Communication Co., Ltd., and supported by Liaoning Provincial Sports Lottery Center.
Song Kai, secretary of the party group and director of the Liaoning Provincial Sports Bureau, said in his speech that the "30-day countdown series of activities for Liaoning Province and Shenyang City to celebrate the Beijing Winter Olympics and the opening ceremony of the first Youth Winter Games in Liaoning Province" was held, aiming to comprehensively display the ice and snow style of Liaoning, and use the enthusiasm and dreams of Liaoning ice and snow people and sports people to welcome the Winter Olympics and help the Winter Olympics.
In recent years, under the strong leadership of the Liaoning Provincial Party Committee and the Liaoning Provincial Government, Liaoning Sports has turned to ice and snow, fully docked with the Beijing Winter Olympics, and vigorously developed ice and snow sports and ice and snow industries. As the Beijing Winter Olympics approach, we are currently doing three main things:
The first is to help the Winter Olympics. At present, Liaoning has a total of 25 athletes, 36 coaches and auxiliary personnel in the national team, participating in the preparation of 5 major events and nearly 50 small events, and the number of participants and the number of participants have reached a new high in the past, ranking the forefront of the country. Liaoning Ice and Snow Athletes will strive for gold medals in freestyle skiing aerial skills and other sports, winning glory for the motherland and adding color to Liaoning.

The second is to bid for the Winter Games. On December 31, 2021, the last day of last year, Liaoning officially submitted a bid letter for the 15th National Winter Games in 2027 to the State General Administration of Sport. This will surely be a historic moment worth remembering for Liaoning sports people. Liaoning's bid to host the Winter Games is very clear, that is, to promote construction and development with the bid, to fully promote the leap-forward development of ice and snow sports and the ice and snow industry, and to contribute to the construction of a sports power and a strong sports province.
The third is to hold the Youth Winter Festival. In order to welcome the Beijing Winter Olympics and comprehensively display the development level of ice and snow sports, Liaoning founded the Youth Winter Games. The first event set up a total of 5 major events and 134 minor events, which will produce 220 gold medals, and the number of direct participants will exceed 3,000. This event is a centralized review of the reserve talents of Liaoning ice and snow projects.
Wang Dong, director of the Winter Sports Project Management Center of Liaoning Provincial Sports Development Center, introduced: "The first Youth Winter Games in Liaoning Province are fully docked with the Beijing Winter Olympic Games in terms of project settings, which is a centralized review of reserve talents in Liaoning ice and snow projects. The purpose is to discover talents, select talents, and promote the construction of a strong province for ice and snow sports in Liaoning. ”
The first Youth Winter Games in Liaoning Province set up two summer cross-sports projects: speed skating, short track speed skating, figure skating, alpine skiing, freestyle skiing, snowboarding, ice hockey, and speed skating and cross-country skating.
Wang Dong said that the main participants of the first Youth Winter Games not only include professional athletes in winter sports in cities in the province, ice and snow sports associations at all levels, and teenagers of the right age in various ice and snow sports clubs, but also students in schools with special schools in ice and snow projects in various cities in the province can also combine their own ice and snow sports skills and sports levels to register for the competition.
It is worth mentioning that this event has received strong support from the Sports Lottery Public Welfare Fund. From "Start Liaoning", to the "Start Liaoning" of the National Fitness Day, to the "Climb liaoning" of the vertical marathon on New Year's Day every year, to the "Cycling Liaoning" of the annual Liaoning International Cycling Festival, to the "Running Liaoning" of the series of marathons in various parts of the province, the "Chasing Liaoning" of various ball events, and the "Ice and Snow Liaoning" of skating and skiing events all over the province in winter, the Sports Lottery Public Welfare Fund strongly supports liaoning's top ten national fitness series brand activities. The wide application of public welfare funds in the field of sports has allowed more and more people to feel the power of sports lottery public welfare funds and share the results of public welfare sports lottery. With the support of the Sports Lottery Public Welfare Fund, the number of national fitness activities in Liaoning is increasing, and the training and competition conditions of professional athletes are constantly improving, showing a trend of mass sports and competitive sports going hand in hand.
With the strong support of the Department of Finance of Liaoning Province, from 2000 to 2020, Liaoning Sports Lottery sold 65.6 billion yuan of sports lottery tickets and raised 17.6 billion yuan of sports lottery public welfare funds. In 2020, the provincial sports lottery public welfare fund approved by the Provincial Department of Finance will use 304 million yuan at this level, of which 156 million yuan will be used for group sports and 146 million yuan for competitive sports.
