Walking into the pressure vessel manufacturing plant of Zhejiang Industrial Equipment Installation Group Co., Ltd., you can see the hard work of Shen Yidong between the welding flowers.
Over the past 27 years, Shen Yidong has taken root in the welding work, trained a skill between the fire and light, interpreted "choosing a career and pouring out his life" with an ingenuity, and won the title of "Most Beautiful Builder" in Zhejiang Province in 2021.

Shen Yidong was born in Hangzhou, Zhejiang In June 1974, after graduating from secondary school in 1994, he entered Zhejiang Industrial Equipment Installation Group Co., Ltd., starting as an electric welding apprentice. Perhaps in the eyes of many people, welding is a rough job, but in his view, welding work is very fine, "a little bit, the effect will be greatly reduced." ”
When he first came into contact with this line, the young Shen Yidong was still a little uncomfortable. As a welder, you can't wear less in the summer, you can't wear more in the winter, and burns on your body are more common. But Shen Yidong had no complaints, practiced the technique without hesitation, took the workshop and the construction site as his home, and often practiced until the middle of the night, "To do this line of work, you have to suffer and endure loneliness." ”
The countless weld holes in his overalls, the thick calluses constantly grinding out on his hands, and the scalding bubbles left by the countless welding flower splashes on his body are the best witnesses of his training day and night. He always believes that the welding torch in his hand is a bright light that illuminates the way forward.
"Welding, one should pay attention to the smooth appearance, and the other should meet the pressure standards, which tests the welding level, not only the hand should be stable, but also the mentality should be stable." In order to improve the welding technique, Shen Yidong often tied a bag to his arm and put several bricks in the bag to practice "bearing weight".
The years when Shen Yidong entered the industry were also the era of rapid development of the thermal power industry. From 1994 to 2010, Shen Yidong followed the enterprise team to the south and north to build thermal power plants, with footprints all over Inner Mongolia, Xinjiang, Guangdong and other places, and even in the new year.
What impressed Shen Yidong the most was that in 2007, the Shenmu Power Plant, a national coal-to-electricity integration project built in Yulin, Shaanxi Province, had to "climb" the 240-meter-high chimney every day in the Maowusu Desert to "climb" the 240-meter-high chimney for welding operations. ”
It is also in the continuous tempering that Shen Yidong has achieved growth, and finally refined his excellent skills, stood out among many peers, and became the "steel tailor" in the industry.
From welder to builder, quality inspection section chief to welding responsible engineer, Shen Yidong has "climbed the peak forever" step by step, and has now won many honors such as Zhejiang Provincial Technical Expert, Zhejiang Outstanding Youth Post Expert, Zhejiang Provincial State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission Outstanding Party Member, Zhejiang Province "100 Million" High-skilled Leading Talents Top Skilled Talents, Hangzhou Shangcheng District "Shangcheng Craftsman" and many other honors.

Delve into innovation and overcome difficulties To show the craftsman style of the new era
Rooted in the welding line for nearly 30 years, Shen Yidong has continuously studied and innovated, actively carried out technological innovation, technological transformation, and overcome technical difficulties. In 2013, Shen Yidong received a special task: to produce and manufacture German drying drums.
German drying drums use solid waste pyrolysis treatment technology and EU standards, which have very strict welding requirements. In the face of this unfamiliar task, Shen Yidong led the welding technology research team, carried out international certification body docking, EN/ISO and other international standards to learn, after learning and absorption, all the welders passed the SÜD (TUV) qualification certification. Under the leadership of Shen Yidong, the team has overcome difficulties such as welding process evaluation, product specimen test board, international welder certification, etc., and successfully passed a number of international tests in half a year.
"The equipment is drum type, which is constructed in the dryer barrel, the site is very narrow, the light is not good, and the requirements for welders are very high." Recalling the years of fierce battles, Shen Yidong still feels vividly remembered, "This is not only an opportunity for self-cultivation, but also an opportunity to show foreign experts the level of Chinese craftsmen." ”
As he said, the internal welding structure and process of the drying drum are complex, and after many researches, Shen Yidong reasonably organizes the process measures, and the welding deformation control amount fully meets the requirements of the German owner. At present, the equipment has been successfully applied to the soil remediation project in Melbourne, Australia, and is actively carrying out market development and various patent declarations, preparing the first set of applications for the "Made in Zhejiang" standard.
While achieving its own growth, Shen Yidong pays more attention to the development of the industry and the construction of talent team. Over the years, Shen Yidong has not forgotten to "pass on the help", unreservedly passed on his skills and experience to young technicians and colleagues, and cultivated a group of outstanding young welders.
In 2016, the Training Group of the German Welding Class for "Golden and Blue-collar" High-skilled Talents in Zhejiang Province was opened, and the trainees were elite experts from the welding high-skilled talents of various industries and fronts in Zhejiang Province.
During the period of being elected as the leader of the training group, Shen Yidong took the initiative to collect the weak links in the welding field of various industries in Zhejiang Province and the current outstanding needs of craftsman inheritance and vocational education, and provided suggestions for Zhejiang to accelerate the construction of the skilled talent team. During the period, it also actively communicated and coordinated with the German Welding Association to show the high skill level and spiritual outlook of Zhejiang industrial workers in the new era.
In the past 30 years, the only thing that Shen Yidong has not changed is his calm and powerful hands, and the brilliant welding flowers that accompany him, "In the era of mechanization, some crafts cannot be replaced."
