Chris Feuell, Chrysler's chief executive, said in an interview that the company plans to show off a concept car called "Airflow" at CES, which will give people a glimpse of Chrysler's new design direction, which is currently trying to reinvent itself and boost sales.

Chrysler plans to launch its first electric vehicle by 2025, with more electric vehicles to replace the existing lineup of fuel vehicles. Feuell admits, "We will revolutionize Chrysler's portfolio from 2025 to 2028 and beyond." ”

Last July, Stellantis said it planned to invest more than 30 billion euros ($33.87 billion) in electrification of its automotive product line by 2025. Alfa Romeo plans to become Stellantis' first pure electric brand in North America in 2027.

Stellantis aims to have 70 percent of its sales in Europe and more than 40 percent of its sales in the U.S. come from low-emission vehicles (all-electric or hybrid) by 2030. Stellantis has also said that all 14 of the company's car brands, including Chrysler, will offer pure electric vehicles.

The automaker also said its electric vehicles will be built on four electric platforms with a range of 500 to 800 kilometers (300 to 500 miles) on a single charge. Feuell said most of the chrysler brand's new cars will be produced on the large electric vehicle platform.

Last May, Stellantis CEO Carlos Tavares said each of the company's brands would receive funding over the next 10 years to prove their prowess. Feuell, who joined Chrysler last September, declined to say how much investment the Chrysler brand would receive, but said the brand's product line would expand to more than 300 cars and Pacifica minivans.

In 2021, Chrysler sold more than 115,000 units in the U.S., mainly from 300 and Pacifica models. That's a far cry from nearly 650,000 units sold in 2005, when the company's lineup also included Crossfire sports cars, PT Cruiser compact sedans and Sebring sedans.

According to research firm AutoForecast Solutions, Chrysler will stop producing the 300 sedan in December 2023 and start producing airflow at its plant in Belvedere, Illinois, in July 2024. Chrysler has yet to confirm the plans.

In addition, Feuell said chrysler's existing models will be retrofitted, including changing seat configurations, integrating technologies such as in-flight software updates, and AI-based applications such as navigation, voice assist, e-commerce and payment services to improve the consumer experience. In the future, tailor-made will be a key factor.

"Chrysler has not been a brand worth investing in for the past 10 years." "Part of restoring and revitalizing a brand is about the product, but it's also about the customer experience," Feuell says. ”
