Zhongxin Jingwei client December 31 (reporter Wang Xinli) Hainan has good tea? Tourists who travel to Hainan find that Hainan's local tea brands are very good when they choose souvenirs. Wuzhishan black tea is one of the best.

Wuzhi Mountain is located in the tropical rainforest mountainous area of central Hainan Island and has the reputation of "Emerald City". The altitude is high, the climate is warm, the clouds are foggy all year round, and the ecology is good. In 2015, Wuzhishan black tea was certified by the National Geographical Indication of Agricultural Products.

Recently, the reporter interviewed Zheng Lijuan, president of the Wuzhishan Tea Association. In the eyes of this female entrepreneur, the small tea leaves contain the development of tropical agriculture in Hainan, cultural tourism and the vast world of enriching the people in ethnic mountainous areas.

Ignorant to enter the industry, from foreign enterprises back to Hainan "farming"

Born in 1963, Zheng Lijuan is a relative of returned overseas Chinese. In the early 1950s, her grandfather and a family of nearly ten people returned to their ancestral home in Guangdong from Malaysia. In response to the call of the state to reclaim rubber in Hainan, he settled in Hainan Xinglong Overseas Chinese Farm. She grew up in Wuzhi mountain, going to her grandfather's house in winter and summer vacations, "Growing up in the mountains and forests, I have a sense of nature. This laid the groundwork for her future career in the tea industry.

In 1982, she was admitted to the Department of Philosophy of Sun Yat-sen University. After graduating in 1986, he went to Guangzhou Wanbao Refrigerator Group to engage in foreign affairs reception work. Her small family also settled in Guangzhou.

In the 1990s, taking advantage of the trend of reform and opening up, Hainan became the birthplace of private enterprises. After Zheng Lijuan's parents retired, they started a company to grow Kuding tea in the northwest of Hainan Island and found the "Hainan Coconut Immortal" brand.

"In 1999, my growing parents wanted me to come back to help take care of the business," she said, promising to return to Hainan from a foreign company in Guangzhou to "farm", one is filial piety to parents, assuming family responsibilities; the other is optimistic about the prospects of Hainan's tourism commodity market. "At that time, although the company's tea price was not high, it was in short supply." In the 1980s, Hainan was the country's largest black tea exporter. "I 'don't understand' that Hainan tea should go out again."

In 2001, the company leased 206 acres of slope land in Wuzhishan Shanshui Manxiang and established Wuzhishan Coconut Immortal Biotechnology Co., Ltd., with Zheng Lijuan as the general manager. "Every day, more than a hundred people work in the mountains and cook rice in the open air with two large pots..." Recalling the scene when the wilderness was first opened, Zheng Lijuan's tone was full of pride.

Not because she was a woman, God was particularly kind. In starting a business, she encountered difficulties again and again.

Because the mountain road is winding and the ditches and streams are numerous, she drives a pickup truck. For the first few years, she had to hold a bamboo raft to work in the tea garden. After a day in the field, sometimes rushing back to Haikou overnight, I had to rest six times along the way before I had the strength to drive the car home. "I want to give up again and again, and I have courage again and again!" She confessed.

In 2005, typhoon Dawei crossed the border. The tea plants that had been planted for several years were scraped to the ground, and the "heartache" had to be replanted.

In the 2008 financial crisis, the company's capital chain was tight, she sold her house in Guangzhou to raise money to supplement the company's production and operating funds.

Through years of exploration and research, Zheng Lijuan used the original century-old wild large-leaf tea of Wuzhishan as the mother, adopted the tea winter control and stalking technology, established the ear picking garden and seedling breeding base, and successfully introduced the Wuzhishan black tea in Datian. Unique climatic conditions and extensive biodiversity form the characteristics of Wuzhishan black tea "amber soup, milk honey fragrance".

Since 2017, Coconut Immortal Brand Five Finger Mountain Li Wang Red Organic Tea has won the first prize and gold medal in the national tea appraisal activities.

"At present, the company has nearly 1,000 acres of organic tea gardens directly operated and managed in Wuzhishan, which is the largest local tea enterprise", and what makes her more pleased is that Wuzhishan black tea is more and more recognized by tea customers.

Set up an association to strengthen the tea industry

With the increase in the popularity of Wuzhishan black tea, the scale of reclamation has expanded, and enterprises and farmers have continuously joined the tea industry. The establishment of industry associations, coordinated development, water to fruition.

In March 2015, the Wuzhishan Tea Association was established, and Zheng Lijuan was elected as the president of the association. The association aims to promote the scale and branding of Wuzhishan tea leaves, and while tea enterprises are growing, farmers can increase their income and become rich by growing tea.

Zheng Lijuan introduced that since the establishment of the association, a series of activities have been carried out to enhance the reputation of Wuzhishan tea.

In November 2015, after Wuzhishan black tea was certified by the National Geographical Indication of Agricultural Products, the association promoted the standardization of tea gardens and formulated local standards in seed production, cultivation and processing.

In 2017, during the boao forum for asia annual meeting, the Wuzhishan Black Tea Forum appeared in the sub-forum and received attention from guests at home and abroad. Since then, Wuzhishan black tea has become the designated drink for the annual meeting of the forum.

Since the beginning of 2018, the Wuzhishan Huaxia Early Spring Tea Mining Festival has been held consecutively.

At the beginning of 2020, Wuzhishan Black Tea entered the CCTV poverty alleviation public service advertisement program.

Since 2015, the area of Wuzhishan tea has expanded from more than 2,000 mu to nearly 10,000 mu, producing many varieties of black tea, green tea, Kuding tea and so on.

"There is good tea in Hainan!" Chen Zongmao, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, has visited Hainan many times and believes that Hainan has the inherent advantage of developing the tea industry. In May 2019, Wuzhishan established the Large Leaf Tea Science Research Institute, where he served as honorary chairman and set up an academician workstation.

Zheng Lijuan said that the workstation strengthened the scientific research of the five-finger camellia industry, and prescribed the right medicine to improve the quality of tea in terms of production technology, processing capacity, prevention and control of pests and diseases.

Wuzhishan tea has become the main industry for local farmers to get rid of poverty and become rich. In recent years, the association has cooperated with the government to increase training and teach farmers management techniques such as planting and fertilization through poverty alleviation classes.

On the road to getting rich, "help a handful" ethnic minority villagers

Wuzhishan is an area inhabited by the Li and Miao ethnic groups. This month, this reporter went to WuzhiShanshui twice to conduct interviews and witnessed the "tea houses" of ethnic minorities rising up one after another in the mountains.

Zheng Lijuan introduced that at present, there are 1,043 tea farmers in Wuzhishan, of which 345 are former poor households. They have escaped poverty and even become rich by working in tea plantations and growing tea at home.

In Fangying Village, Shuiman Township, Lan Jie, a 67-year-old Li ethnic group, opened a handmade tea workshop this year. "Zheng is the first company in Wuzhishan to drive farmers to grow tea," she said. More than ten years ago, she went to work at the Coconut Fairy Tea Garden and learned to make tea.

"At the beginning of the reclamation, the company rented 17 acres of land near the town market as a tea nursery. In addition to the company's own use, it is provided to farmers free of charge." She said that this move has changed the tradition of local farmers going up the mountain to dig up solid seedlings to grow tea, and accelerating the promotion of excellent new varieties. The company also signed a tea green repurchase agreement with tea farmers, and under the premise of meeting the standard, the reserve price was guaranteed to be purchased to solve the worries of farmers.

Zheng Lijuan calculated that if a family grows 5 acres of tea, the picking period is 11 months, and the minimum annual income is 35,000 yuan. "The development of Wuzhishan black tea not only protects the ecology, but also rationally utilizes native species, and farmers who rely on the mountains to eat the mountains have a stable harvest."

In 2014, Zheng Lijuan shifted her gaze from Shuiman Township to Hongshan Township. Through the way of "company + cooperative + farmer", the planting area has been expanded by 800 mu. Wang Meishan, secretary of the village branch of Fansai Village in Hongshan Township, said that Zheng Zong was enthusiastic and mingled with the villagers. Which family has a few people, planting a few acres of tea, it is clear. More than 40 of the 108 poor households in the village have been lifted out of poverty by growing tea.

In June this year, the company's sightseeing tea garden was awarded the National Poverty Alleviation Demonstration Base by the All-China Women's Federation.

Mai FuBing, who is in his 70s this year, is the company's production and technical leader. He said, "Zheng Zong left his small family and squatted in the deep mountains and old forests to study tea. It is not easy to take root in agriculture for half a lifetime. She pursues the development of Hainan tea industry. ”

Looking forward to creating a "tea living room" in Wuzhishan

With the networking of island-wide highways, Hainan global tourism will open a new page. Five Finger Mountain in the center of the island is located at the tourist hub.

"Wuzhishan black tea is a public brand, and the association has the responsibility to protect and develop it well!" Zheng Lijuan said that the current difficulty facing the association is that how to make the development plan of the WuzhiShancha Industrial Park scientific and systematic, which requires the overall planning, coordination and support of the government departments.

Zheng Lijuan chanted the "Tea Classic" of Wuzhishan: to create the "Tea Living Room" of Wuzhishan. Through the tea industry to do support for tourism, so that tourists in the Five Finger Mountain to swim well, buy, live.

"There are four seasons in a day", in the Coconut Fairy Sightseeing Tea Garden, the reporter encountered a group of "migratory birds" living in Wuzhi Mountain. Mr. Huang from Tangshan said that after living in Wuzhishan for 8 years, "there is no heat in summer, no severe cold in winter, it is a natural oxygen bar", he suggested, "to enhance the tourism environment, Wuzhishan is a treasure land, guests will come to 'forest breath'".

In January 2016, a cold wave hit Hainan. "One night, the mountains were full of camellias, which were as spectacular as to be spectacular", the tea trees that had bloomed one round of flowers bloomed for the second time, "For a moment, I seemed to understand the life code of tea - in order to let future generations stay, blossom, fruit, and do everything!" "The tea plants bloom more, which means that the tea leaves will be reduced in that year." But Zheng Lijuan was deeply touched by the discovery of this "mystery": tea culture is endless in Chinese civilization, and it is the tea tree that has tenacious vitality.

At present, Hainan has two national geographical indications for agricultural products, Baisha green tea and Wuzhishan black tea, and the products are abundant.

Zheng Lijuan has inspected the tea industry in India, Turkey and other parts of the world. As the largest private enterprise in Hainan's tea production, she has a blueprint in mind: "To build an international tourism consumption center in Hainan, it is necessary to jump out of Hainan and integrate the tea industry with agriculture, tourism, culture and other industries with a broader vision, and do a good job in the articles of local characteristic industries in Hainan Free Trade Port." She said expectantly. (Zhongxin Jingwei APP)
