According to Russian Radio Today, on January 4, local time, Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett quoted Israel's preliminary research results as saying: "If the fourth dose of the new crown vaccine is injected, the antibodies will increase by 5 times after a week." ”

Bennett said: "After observing the reaction of the fourth dose of the new crown vaccine one week later, we are more confident that the fourth dose of the vaccine is safe. The second news is that a week after the fourth dose of the vaccine was injected, the number of antibodies in the vaccinated person increased fivefold. This is likely to mean significantly improved capacity to prevent infection, hospitalization and severe illness. ”

The trial began in late December last year, with 150 staff members of Sheba, Israel's National Health Policy and Epidemiology Research Center, receiving a fourth dose of the vaccine. Although the staff had previously received three doses of the Pfizer vaccine, their antibody levels had dropped significantly in the four months or so since the last booster injection. After the fourth dose of the vaccine, the antibodies increased 5-fold after a week.

Due to the rise of the Delta and Omicron variants, there is reportedly a growing desire to launch a reinforcement needle, and Israel is one of the first countries to take action.

However, while the highly transmittered Omiljung variant has given much of the world new restrictions on outbreak control, earlier findings suggest that the Omiljung variant causes milder symptoms than previous variants. On January 4, the World Health Organization said that data now show that although many people are diagnosed with the Omiljung variant every day, hospitalization rates and death rates around the world have not risen much, and more studies are needed to confirm these results.

Israel has played a leading role in studying the effectiveness of covid-19 vaccines, having been the fastest country to launch a second booster vaccine to a wide range of people a year ago and one of the first to offer a third dose of COVID-19 vaccine. The country is currently giving a fourth dose of the Pfizer vaccine to people over the age of 60, health workers and immunocompromised patients.
