Originating in Sweden, the Vaasa Cross-Country Ski Race is one of the oldest cross-country skiing events in the world today. In 2003, the event was introduced to Changchun, and in 2014 the Changchun Vaasa series of ski events officially joined the World Lopet Sports Organization.
In the competition, more than 400 professional athletes and ski enthusiasts from all over China challenged the world's cross-country skiing brand event, including the players of the Fourth Primary School in Jilin Chuanying District.
The 28 primary school students were from the second to fifth grades, the youngest being only 8 years old and the oldest being only 11 years old. Jin Yuhan, who is in the fifth grade, has completed the 25-kilometer cross-country race, and he believes that he has "won" the completion.
And 8-year-old Wang Shengyu also insisted on completing the 2.5-kilometer race. In his opinion, the intensity of the competition is comparable to the usual amount of training, but the competition is fierce, and this completion makes him full of confidence in his future sports path.

Hu Yaodong, director of the student office and team leader of the fourth primary school in Chuanying District, Jilin City, said that the school was invited by the organizing committee to participate, and the students were also the youngest players in this competition. The game has a strong competitive nature, but the young players are "scrappy".
Previously, they were exposed to this sport in the school's ice and snow sports club, and they took snow lessons in the Jilin Beishan Four Seasons Ski Resort for more than a year, and made rapid progress. In the competition that day, all 28 primary school students completed the competition.
The reporter noted that thanks to the unique ice and snow resources of Jilin Province, the cities under the jurisdiction of the local government have frequent exchanges in ice and snow sports. Changchun and Jilin cities are often invited to participate in each other's ice and snow tourism festivals and ice and snow events in youth ice hockey and cross-country skiing.
Primary and secondary school students from Changchun City went to Beishan Four Seasons Cross-country Ski Resort, Vanke Songhua Lake, Beidahu and other venues for snow lessons; Jilin City also sent youth ice hockey teams to Changchun to participate in the competition. The two sides have shared personnel training, venues, experience and other aspects.
