Israel has detected the first case of "COVID-19 + influenza" virus double infection

According to the British Mirror quoted by Local Media reports in Israel, recently, Israel reported the first case of the "Flurona" virus, that is, the double infection of the new crown virus and the influenza virus. The patient is an unvaccinated young pregnant woman.

It is reported that the young pregnant woman was tested at the Belinson Hospital in Pektikova, Israel, and subsequent results showed that she was infected with both influenza virus and new coronavirus.

Beilinson Hospital said patients showed only fairly mild symptoms of the disease. Flu and COVID-19 have similar symptoms in that they both attack the upper respiratory tract. The patient was discharged from hospital last Thursday.

Israel's Ministry of Health said experts are currently assessing the case of double infection with the virus to test whether it can cause more serious disease.

Israeli experts say several other patients are also infected with Flurna, but have not yet been diagnosed.

Professor Arnon Vizhnitser, director of gynaecology at the hospital, said: "Last year, we did not see flu cases in pregnant women or among pregnant women. Right now, we're seeing a rise in the coronavirus and flu viruses, and more and more pregnant women are getting the flu. This is definitely a huge challenge for a woman who has a fever during childbirth, especially if you don't know if she has COVID-19 or the flu. ”

On January 3, local time, the Israeli Ministry of Health reported that in the past 24 hours, there were 6,562 new confirmed cases in the country, and there are currently 37,675 active cases across Israel.

Of the confirmed patients, 203 were hospitalized, of whom 110 were severe and 45 were critically ill.

The positive rate of the new crown virus test reached 4.83% on the same day, a significant increase from 3.94% in the previous day. Last week's infection coefficient was 1.88, indicating that the scope of the pandemic is ongoing and significantly expanding.

Meanwhile, Israel's Ministry of Health announced that israel will reopen to tourists starting next week.

Under the new scheme, vaccinated tourists from countries with low or moderate infection rates or those with valid recovery certificates will be allowed to enter the country. These tourists will be required to quarantine for 24 hours upon arrival in Israel or have a negative nucleic acid test result upon arrival in Israel.

Those who have not been vaccinated, as well as those living in countries on the "red" list, will not be allowed to enter Israel.
