According to Natividad Medical Center, twins born in different years are extremely rare, with an estimated probability of one in 2 million.

Erin is also the hospital's first baby in 2022, weighing 5 pounds 14 ounces at birth, while Alfre weighed 6 pounds 1 ounces.

Maderica said in a statement: "It's incredible that they are twins with different birthdays. She (Erin) was born in the middle of the night, which surprised and delighted me at the same time. ”

According to the hospital, Alfredo and Erin have two older sisters and an older brother. Madeleja told the hospital that her eldest son was "excited" that he would have a younger brother.

Dr Ana Abril Arias, who was in charge of delivering the babies, said: "It was definitely the most memorable one of my career. It's definitely a pleasure to help these little ones be born safely in 2021 and 2022. It's great to start the New Year in this way!"
