And when Chen Shou wrote the "Romance of the Three Kingdoms and the Book of Shu", it was too concise. The Shu Han Dynasty did not record the history, resulting in the lack of historical materials, and many people did not have personal biographies.
In the Romance of the Three Kingdoms, the Book of Wei is thirty volumes, the Book of Wu is twenty volumes, and the Book of Shu is only fifteen volumes. Among them, the fifteenth volume of the Book of Shu has a "Biography of Yang Opera", Yang Opera has written "Ji Han Fuchen Praise", which has many talents of Shu Han, many of whom do not have independent biographies, and Chen Shou has attached a small biography to the back, on the grounds of lack of historical materials. The contents of this appendix biography are pitifully dry. The above-mentioned Chen Zhi has almost no specific content, which is basically a resume, adding an evaluation of "the name Changya Zhao Yun, all with loyalty and courage"; Liao Hua, who is regarded as a typical "general without a general in Shu", has beaten Guo Huai, a famous general of Cao Wei, but this matter is not recorded in Liao Hua's small biography (attached to the "Zong Pre-Biography"). It can be seen to what extent the records of the Book of Shu lack.
Should the "fault" of the Shu Han talents be carried by Zhuge Liang?
First of all, Xiaobian believes that there is no fault in Shu Han talents, and secondly, taking a step back, even if there is a problem with the continuation of talents, Zhuge Liang should not carry the pot. The problem of Shu Han talents was limited by the objective environment of the Shu Han's small territory and limited population. Zhuge Liang must be personally wrong, in what position to do something, this is a reasonable and healthy way of operation. However, if zhuge liang had to be personally involved in everything, resulting in the Shu Han dynasty not producing talents for thirty years after Zhuge Liang's death, this conclusion is simply mysterious.
Moreover, we can look at some of the more prominent talents of the Shu Han after Zhuge Liang's death: Jiang Wan, Fei Yi, Wang Ping, and Jiang Wei were all appreciated and promoted by Zhuge Liang. Although Wei Yan was promoted by Liu Bei, he was also highly valued by Zhuge Liang, rather than suppressed as in the literary image. Jiang Huan and Fei Yi were enough to protect the border and the people, and Jiang Wei was the main pillar of the Northern Expedition in the late Shu Han Dynasty. It can be said that the talents promoted by Zhuge Liang ran through the demise of the Shu Han Dynasty. If you accuse Zhuge Liang of not selecting and cultivating talents just because of the misuse of horse rumors and personally doing things, and even put the pot of insufficient talent in the late Shu Han Dynasty on Zhuge Liang's head, Xiaobian thinks that it is too arbitrary.
