He finally left China

In 1900, Empress Dowager Cixi issued an edict to wage war against the great powers, and the Boxers, who claimed to be invincible, and some Qing troops launched an attack on the foreign embassies in Dongjiaomin Lane, Beijing, and it was soon proved that mortal flesh could not resist foreign guns and cannons after all.

Only 56 days later, the Eight-Nation Alliance attacked the capital, and Empress Dowager Cixi fled in panic, and when she fled, she did not forget to order the capture and killing of the Boxers, in order to show favor to the foreigners and throw the Pot Boxers. Seeing that the foreigners were angry, they had no choice but to escape first, but in order to take care of their face, they also had to deceive themselves into playing some word games, and said that "west escape" was "west hunting" - to go hunting in the west.

He finally left China

The following year, the "Xinugu Treaty" was signed, and since then, the embassy district of the great powers in Dongjiaomin Lane has been completely reduced to a "country within a country". The great powers could not only set up embassies and consulates, but even build military barracks to garrison troops; Moreover, the treaty stipulates that Chinese are not allowed to reside here.

After the signing of the treaty, the Western powers built a large number of civil engineering projects, from Chongwenmen in the east, to Xikou in the west, to Dongchenggen in the south, and to East Chang'an Avenue in the north, and the entire area became the jurisdiction of the foreign embassy district. For a time, bunkers and turrets rose from the ground, trenches and iron fences crisscrossed each other, and close to them was the Forbidden City, which represented the royal majesty. This scene was ridiculed by a Japanese person at that time as: the world's first wonder!

Thankfully, this history of humiliation was swept away after the founding of New China. When the Beijing Municipal Military Control Commission issued a notice of withdrawal to the US, British, and other embassies, these members of the embassies and consulates representing the Western powers actually planned not to leave, among them, the former US consul general in Peiping, Ko Loeb, wrote a letter and protested, and actually said that the rights they possessed were stipulated in the "Xinugu Treaty." I went, such a brazen remark is really speechless, is it not worth saying this in my heart?

Not only that, he even threatened that if the barracks in Dongjiaomin Lane were requisitioned, the United States would close all consulates and withdraw all diplomats!

He finally left China

When Mr. Kolobo said these words, he was completely mistaken for the wrong person - it is now a new China! The realistic answer made him punch him in the face. Eun Xiang, then director of the Department of Europe and Africa of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, replied to the "middle messenger", Gao Laihan, former British consul general in Beiping, who said: As a result of the unequal treaties of imperialism in the past, New China will never allow their existence!

Until the military control commission representative Li Huanshan and others came to receive him, Ke Lebo still made the last powerless "protest", and when he kept repeating those strong words to seize reason, Li Huanshan simply replied to him with a loud, concise and clear sentence: "The protest is your personal affair, we are here to carry out the order"!

Needless to say, China is far from being the weak country that was slaughtered and ravaged in the past, and Kolobo still insists on the last stubbornness on the surface, but he shows his true feelings in his heart with practical actions - when the representative of the Military Control Commission left, the consul general only wore a shirt and was busy packing his bags home in the cold wind.

He finally left China

In January 1950, the People's Liberation Army officially marched into Dongjiaomin Lane, and the so-called "right to garrison troops" signed by imperialism using unequal treaties was completely abolished.

The moment Kolobo left the land of China, the sleeping lion behind him had awakened, and a powerful new China had begun to stand tall in the east of the world!
