Puyi, the last emperor who worked in the botanical garden after the amnesty.
On the morning of December 4, 1959, the first batch of amnesty war criminals conference of the Fushun War Criminals Management Institute was solemnly held, and the last emperor Puyi sat in the conference hall with other war criminals, and then listened to the representatives of the Liaoning Provincial High People's Court read out the notice to the amnesty personnel. At that time, Puyi could not have imagined that he would get a amnesty notice from the court - 1959 annual pardon word 001. When he received the amnesty notice, Puyi burst into tears of excitement, and he never thought that he could return to freedom.
After being pardoned, Puyi became an ordinary citizen, and in March 1960, Puyi was assigned to work as a gardener and ticket seller at the Beijing Botanical Garden. His life, like everyone else's, goes to work, leaves work, sleeps, and eats every day. But at this time, Puyi is already a cumin body, and solving personal problems for Puyi makes leaders and relatives and friends have a headache, and everyone wants to find someone to take care of him.

At that time, everyone thought that Puyi had once been the emperor, so it was natural to introduce him to the other half to find a door to be right. But everyone's ideas are wrong, and Puyi, who returned to freedom, wants to find a proletarian woman from a poor middle-class peasant and a poor family.
One day, Puyi went to work at the CPPCC as usual, and his colleague Zhou Zhenqiang brought a photo to Puyi. When Puyi looked at the woman in the photo, he was instantly attracted, and he asked busily: "What does the woman in the photo do?" Zhou Zhenqiang said: "It is a medical worker." When he heard that it was a doctor, he was immediately satisfied, because Puyi's dream was to become a doctor. At 3 p.m. on the seventh day of the first lunar month in 1962, Puyi met with Li Shuxian under the mediation of Sha Zengxi and Zhou Zhenqiang.
This is April 30, 1962, Puyi and Li Shuxian's wedding was held at the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference Cultural Club, and the members of the Ai Xin Jueluo family who attended the wedding took a group photo.
At 7:00 p.m. on April 30, 1962, Puyi and Li Shuxian held a simple and special wedding ceremony at the former site of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference Cultural Club and the European and American Returned Scholars Association. Puyi and Li Shuxian's wedding did not have a banquet or dinner party, just a simple tea party. In this way, the two of them got married under the witness of relatives and friends, and Puyi said at the wedding: "I finally have a home." ”

A week after the wedding, Puyi and Li Shuxian spent time in various banquets and gatherings, so every time they went home, they quickly rested because they were tired, and gradually Li Shuxian discovered Puyi's strange behavior. One day in the middle of the night, Li Shuxian felt that her face was very hot, she opened her eyes and found Puyi looking at herself with a lamp, Li Shuxian was suddenly frightened. It was already early in the morning, and Li Shuxian asked strangely, "Why don't you sleep?" Puyi did not speak, just smiled, and then returned to the desk to continue reading. Since then, Puyi has been reading books in the middle of the night every day and getting up late in the morning. Later, Li Shuxian learned that Puyi was physically defective. To this end, she also had a divorce with Puyi.

After the divorce storm, Puyi and Li Shuxian's life is very good, they have been going to see movies, watching dramas, playing, Puyi's relationship with Li Shuxian can be said to be meticulous. But the good times did not last long, and Puyi was sick. Half a month before Puyi's death, he took Li Shuxian's hand and said with tears: "I am worried that I am not there, what do you do?" I know my own illness, I know my life expectancy. In my life, I have been an emperor and a citizen, and my fate is good, but now I have finally come to an end. I'm sorry for you, now I see that I'm going to leave you alone, and I have nothing left, how will you live in the future? After speaking, Puyi burst into tears. In the early morning of October 17, 1967, Puyi died of illness at the age of 60. After Puyi was cremated, the ashes were placed in the Babaoshan Cemetery and later moved to the Hualong Royal Cemetery. On June 9, 1997, Li Shuxian died of illness at the age of 72. After her death, she was not buried with her husband Puyi, but chose to be buried alone in the Babaoshan Revolutionary Cemetery.
Why did Li Shuxian and PuYi obviously become husband and wife and not be buried together after death? Li Shuxian left a last word before her death, saying that Puyi had been a puppet for half a lifetime, and she did not want to be buried with him after she died, making a sign for him. Although Puyi was pardoned and lived a normal life, because he had been a pseudo-emperor, he had been criticized, and Li Shuxian was also implicated and was given the name of "puppet lady". Because of this, Li Shuxian refused to be buried with Puyi, in order to draw a clear line and not let himself bear the label obtained by Puyi after his death. Isn't that a kind of helplessness?
