Puyi once had four marriages and married five women, and his last wife was Li Shuxian. On October 17, 1967, Puyi died of a serious illness and was first buried in Babaoshan and then moved to neichongling in the Qing Dynasty.

In 1911, the Xinhai Revolution broke out, and all parts of the country declared independence. In 1950, the Soviet Union officially carried out a handover ceremony with the Chinese government, and extradited Puyi and other war criminals to China. In this way, Puyi and a large number of war criminals began a ten-year labor reform in the Fushun Labor Reform Center.
In 1959, the chairman signed an amnesty decree and released Puyi. After a long period of labor reform, Puyi has taken on a new look in his thinking. At the same time, he saw with his own eyes that the former royal nobles lived very different lives:

In this regard, Puyi's heart is full of ideals and hopes for the future, and he believes that he is getting closer and closer to a new life. In 1960, Puyi was assigned to work in the botanical garden. Four years later, he was transferred to the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference to work as a data collator. During these days, Puyi met Li Shuxian and began his last marriage.
Once, the chairman met with Puyi, saw that Puyi did not have a partner around him, and quipped: "You are not married, right?" The 'emperor' can't be without a lady by his side. Now that you're free, you're perfectly capable of remarrying. However, for Puyi, finding a partner that he likes and is suitable is not an easy task.
Why?
Because, during this period, Puyi only wanted to find an ordinary woman as a partner, and the other party had to have a job. In Puyi's view, the new era must have a new atmosphere, and women cannot completely rely on men to live. Therefore, he hopes that his future partner will have the characteristics of a new society.
