Lukaku, who made controversial remarks in an interview with Italy Sky some time ago, was excluded from the squad for a match against Liverpool by Chelsea manager Tuchel. Manchester United star Gary Neville spoke about the matter on Sky Sports, expressing support for Tuchel's approach and questioning Lukaku's professional attitude. Neville said on the show that when Lukaku left Manchester United in 2019, he did not feel sad at all.
Neville put it this way on the show:
"I think he (Tuchel) made the absolutely right decision. I think from a neutral or media perspective, we can't criticize Lukaku for speaking his true mind. But I must say that if I were a Chelsea coach, a player, a fan or management, I would absolutely be angry. ”
"I remember a few years ago when he was still at Old Trafford I didn't feel loyal to the club and didn't have that 'this is your club'. I didn't shed a tear when he left because I felt like he hadn't been very professional. ”
"He told the truth, it's an uncomfortable fact, it's hard to untie the knot. But I think Tuchel will reintegrate him into the team in the coming weeks. I think things may not work out well in January, but I'm sure he'll make some form of apology or remorse next week or so. Tuchel made the right decision today, and not playing against a player who gave such an interview in midweek may make him look weak, but that's what Chelsea fans want to see him do. ”
