According to the Mirror, Barca hope Arsenal will give a clear answer before Wednesday for signing Coutinho. Barca are determined to sell Coutinho in this winter window, with Newcastle and Leicester City also keeping an eye on the 29-year-old former Liverpool midfielder.
Arsenal want to bring in Coutinho on a rent-before-buy basis, considering a six-month loan for the Brazilian midfielder and then buying it out this summer for £5 million plus floating fees. During this period, the Gunners will pay Coutinho a weekly salary of more than £200,000.
However, in the current situation, Barca prefer to sell Coutinho directly for a transfer fee of £7.5 million. If the two sides can't reach an agreement, the Brazilian midfielder could return to his home country to play, with Atlético Mineiro and Palmeiras both clubs interested in him.
