As more contemporary poetry enters art museums and subway stations, poetry is presented in combination with audiovisual arts such as music, photography, painting, and installation, which has injected vitality into the cultural and creative practice of the city.

"Today, we must not only pay attention to the creation and research of contemporary poetry, think deeply about the spirit of contemporary poetry, but also learn to use various new media and new carriers to more effectively disseminate excellent culture." The 5th Symposium on Contemporary Chinese Poetry Theory "Cross-border and Cross-introduction of Poetry: The Possibility of the Future of Contemporary Art" was held at The Lingang International Art Park in Shanghai, and the new book "When Poetry is In Progress: A Study of Contemporary Chinese Poetry" was released at the same time. Zhang Ruiyan, chief planner and editor-in-chief of the new book, said that this is not only a review and combing of the modernization process of Chinese poetry, but also a future prospect for the exploration of poetry modernization. "Contemporary poets must not only strive to cope with the complex social reality and face the contemporary life that is currently underway at the moment, but also deeply think about the harmonious coexistence between man and nature, and make cultural works with important spiritual, historical and epochal characteristics circulate more widely and have a more far-reaching impact through more creative ways."

From the perspective of "cross-border and cross-introduction of poetry", the seminar explores the possibility of diversified intersection and integration of contemporary poetry and art, and studies the various ways of thinking and creativity of poetry and art integration. Pan Songde, a researcher at the Institute of Literature of the Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences, introduced that the book "The Progress of Poetry" explores theoretical issues such as the current situation, problems, trends and ways out of contemporary Chinese new poetry, which has practical guiding significance for promoting the current criticism, reading and criticism of new poetry theory.

Poet and photographer Song Zuifa said: For contemporary poets, if you want to let the expression of "poetry" break through the limitations of words in the era of reading pictures, cross-introduction photography is a creative dimension worth exploring. In the view of the critic Sun Mengjin, cross-border art is by no means a parallel creation in two or more fields, "first of all, it breaks the boundaries of disciplines, whether it is Guy Debo's landscape society or Baudrillard's cross-border writing, it is because of the foreboding the advent of the era of fragmentation, the forward-looking exploration made." ”

Zhang Hong, a professor at the School of Humanities of Tongji University, believes that "cross-border" is the disregard and erasure of boundaries, and the art form itself is not affected by existing boundaries. Modern art itself is a creative act of breaking down established boundaries, and poets and artists are wanderers who drift in various limited spaces. Li Bin, who is both a poet and a violinist, said that music and poetry are art that uses more synesthesia expression techniques, and music inspires us: on the one hand, the subjective consciousness of poetry creation is relatively strong, and we must dare to let go of ourselves; on the other hand, we must consider the internal logic of poetry performance and consider the accuracy of poetry expression.

Poetry is the soul contained in various things, and we are more concerned with the living poetry that flows in the operation of society. Poet Yan Li said. Xu Jinjiang, director of the Institute of Literature of the Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences and president of the Institute of Urban Cultural Innovation, pointed out that as a brand of creative culture in Shanghai, the Lingang Theoretical Seminar promotes the industry to think about how to present contemporary poetry in a visual art way, how to deal with the changes in contemporary society and the unknowable challenges of the future.
