It is the junction of Hunan and Guangdong provinces, known as "the northern gate of Guangdong, the first town in Lingnan". Many of the mountains in the territory belong to the Danxia landform, surrounded by cliffs like knives, majestic and dangerous.
When we were in the countryside, an elderly local villager told us not to look at our mountainous area, in the previous year, a large number of silver ingots had been rushed in from a temple on the mountain, and the villagers alone picked up more than ten kilograms, not counting those who were swept away by the river and entered the river.
It turned out that once, there was a heavy rain here, suddenly a flash flood broke out, not far away on the mountain Yunxian Temple was washed open a gap, many villagers' rice fields were also submerged, the rain was sunny, after the flood, everyone rushed to sort out their own field crops, there were villagers found that some bare river fields, as well as the mountains and hills that were passed by water, some people found a piece of silver, for a time the whole village boiled, the villagers also spontaneously formed a treasure hunting team, some people said, the mountains are full of silver, and the capital can pick up treasures.
For a time, many people rushed to build, after the silver was picked up, many people were not willing, and continued to look for anything else near the mountain temple, with unremitting efforts, someone did find the gold crown and copper mirror, due to the large number of silver ingots, this behavior attracted the attention of the relevant experts at the higher level, sent a working group to identify the things picked up by these villagers.
Later, after careful study by experts, the words engraved on the silver ingots found that many silver ingots were engraved with the word "Da Shun", and they told everyone that these silver ingots were the money left by Li Zicheng in that year.
Experts also pointed out that somewhere near Pingshi, there should still be a lot of treasures in Li Zicheng, and now the silver of the landslide caused by the flood erosion may be a small part of the loose soil in a certain place, and many of them have been washed into the riverbed with the flood.
Many villagers are puzzled, according to historical records, Li Zicheng's large army did not go to Guangdong that year, and the place where he died in battle was also in the Area of Jiugong Mountain in Tongcheng, Hubei Province, so why is there a treasure in the guangdong mountains?
Originally, in the seventeenth year of Chongzhen, that is, in January 1644, Li Zicheng, the king of Chuang, proclaimed himself emperor in Xi'an, and the founding name was "Dashun", and in March, he led a peasant army to invade Beijing, occupy the Forbidden City, and forced the Chongzhen Emperor to hang himself on coal mountain, ending the rule of the Ming Dynasty in 276.
After Li Zicheng captured Beijing, he then set up a torture hall and began to torture Ming officials, and he sent peasant armies to raid homes and demand that officials donate money and property. He stipulated: 100,000 in the middle hall, 70,000 or 530,000 in the Jingtang Jinyi of the Ministry, 530,000 in the Daoke officials, 321,000 in Hanlin, and 1,000 in the subordinates.
According to statistics, in just ten days, Li Zicheng snatched more than 100 million taels of silver and more than 1 million taels of gold, and he ordered that these gold and silver be recast into ingots and engraved with the words "Da Shun". However, what Li Zicheng did not expect was that in a short period of time, Wu Sangui brought in the Qing army, and the Dashun army was defeated and retreated, and had to withdraw from the city of Beijing, fleeing all the way to the south, taking the huge amount of gold and silver treasures that he could not loot, all the way from Beijing to Shanxi, Hubei, Guangdong and other places, and it is said that gold and silver treasures were found in the places where he fled.
Under the siege of Wu Sangui and Qing soldiers, Li Zicheng fled in a hurry, the manpower along the way was limited, and a large number of people walked together to easily expose the target, so Li Zicheng distributed some gold and silver to his subordinates, let them escape separately, while he himself fled to Shaanxi, Gansu and other places, and was finally killed by Xiang Yong. These riches eventually disappeared along with Li Zicheng at the Nine Palaces Mountain in Tongcheng, and their whereabouts have since been unknown.
And the silver ingots with the word Dashun in the Pingshi Mountains are actually part of Li Zicheng's treasure, and there must be more silver to see the light of day, and it takes time to excavate, and perhaps it will be washed out by the flood in the future.
