I. Introduction of Zhu Houzhao:
Zhu Houzhao was born in 1491 and died in 1521, the tenth emperor of the Ming Dynasty, reigned from 1505 to 1521, the eldest son of Emperor Xiaozong of Ming and Empress Zhang. The era name is Zhengde.
Soon after taking the throne, he trusted the eunuchs led by Liu Jin, including Ma Yongcheng, Qiu Ju, Gu Dayong, and Zhang Yong, and called them the "Eight Parties". And in Xihua Gate to build a palace, built a secret room in two compartments, called "leopard room", "new house", daily play in it. The emperor's arrogance and the eunuchs' wanton behavior led to the deterioration of the already dangerous social economy, the intensification of class contradictions, and the continuous peasant uprisings. During his reign, due to the neglect of the imperial government, Zhu Huanjun, the king of Anhua, and Zhu Chenhao, the king of Ning, successively raised troops to seize the throne.
In March of the sixteenth year of Zhengde (1521), Emperor Mingwuzong Zhu Houzhao died in the leopard room at the age of Chinese New Year's Eve, reigned for sixteen years, and was buried in Kangling with the title of "Emperor Wuzong of Chengtian Daoying".

II. Zhu Houzhao's Life Deeds:
1. Spoil the eunuchs and build a "leopard house"
In 1505, Zhu Houzhao ascended the throne, and soon after taking the throne, he trusted the eunuchs Ma Yongcheng, Qiu Ju, Gu Dayong, Zhang Yong, and eight other eunuchs headed by Liu Jin, who were then called the "Eight Parties" or "Eight Tigers". They acted recklessly, taking advantage of the emperor's favor and wantonly attacking the ministers who opposed them. In order to please Zhu Houzhao, every day into the eagle dog, song and dance, horn and other plays, the East Palace at that time was jokingly called "a hundred theaters".
Later, Zhu Houzhao asked people to build a leopard house, and many wild beasts and beauties were kept in captivity in the leopard house. Why it is called leopard room, mainly because there are a variety of animals in the park, the most of which are leopards.

Why raise leopards, you must know that this is Mr. Zhu Houzhao after thousands of choices, repeated trials to decide, he often raises wild beasts in the dungeon, and then hangs meat on bamboo poles, let the beasts bite, over time, many beasts are also maimed by him. Through careful observation and scientific practice, he found that only leopards have the highest enthusiasm and the most ferocious swooping action, so he likes to raise leopards the most.
There is such a good place, you can play music, play people, play animals, Zhu Houzhao naturally does not want to leave. Increasingly, the government was abandoned.
2, quite a miraculous Yingzhou victory, the death toll of both sides in single digits?
In October of the twelfth year of Zhengde (1517), the Mongol prince Boyan Knock passed. Zhu Houzhao was greatly excited and quickly returned to Beijing to arrange a personal march. It was less than seventy years after the change of the tumu fort, and the courtiers could not help but be nervous when they heard the word "pro-march". So it was another round of exhortations, lessons, and even threats, but Zhu Houzhao was absolutely unwilling to let go of this opportunity for actual combat, and finally led the troops to fight in the name of "Great General Zhu Shou". As punishment, he did not give any civilian officer the honor of accompanying the car.
In this battle, Zhu Houzhao showed extraordinary military talent, first sending a small number of troops to lure the snake out of the hole, containing the main force of the enemy army, and then increasing the strength of the army to consume the enemy's vigor. The whole battle lasted for several days, and finally ended in the defeat of the little prince. This battle temporarily stabilized the northern border of the Ming Empire for a while.
However, in the end, more than twenty people were killed, countless wounded, and one hundred and forty horses were robbed. A big war of tens of thousands of people was just a little bit of a loss. After receiving the report, a minister of the DPRK immediately made a real scene restoration: a small group of Mongol soldiers came to grab the horse, successfully snatched the horse, and killed many people.

3. The Southern Patrol counterinsurgency.
On June 14, 1519, in the fourteenth year of Zhengde (1519), Zhu Chenhao, the king of Jiangxi Ning, killed the imperial court officials and led a rebellion. Zhu Houzhao found the intersection and marched again. On August 22 of the same year, Zhu Houzhao led a large army from Beijing. According to the custom, it is not possible to bring inmates, and Zhu Houzhao and his favorite Liu Niangniang meet at Luhe. Taking the hairpin as a relic, who knew that Zhu Houzhao turned the hairpin upside down when he crossed the Lugou Bridge on horseback, so he did not move the soldiers, let the soldiers search for three days, or could not find it, and finally Zhu Houzhao actually let the army stop advancing, and he went back with a few retinues and picked up Liu Niangniang again.
After August 26, the army went to Zhuozhou, and Inspector Wang Shouren actually led an army to conquest without waiting for the imperial court to surrender, and captured the indisputable King Ning alive. Hou Zhao heard that the report fell to the fullest. But Zhu Houzhao hid the good news and continued to travel south.
On December 1, Zhu Houzhao arrived at Yangzhou Capital. Since then, I have been going out hunting every day. The courtiers were ineffective, so they asked Liu Meiren to come forward, and finally persuaded the playful emperor.
This has been going on for more than eight months. Wang Shouren had taken King Ning to Nanjing six months earlier, begging the emperor to be captured, but Zhu Houzhao would not allow it. In the end, Wang Shouren re-reported that all the credit was given to the great general Zhu Shou, and Zhu Houzhao accepted the song.
After being captured, Zhu Houzhao finally reluctantly agreed to return north. After walking for a while, he suddenly thought: he wanted to put King Ning back and make another disturbance, and he would personally capture him. This emperor deserves no one.
III. Zhu Houzhao's Historical Achievements:
1. A complete set of emergency management measures to deal with natural disasters.
During Zhu Houzhao's period, the construction of disaster relief mechanisms tended to be perfect, and emergency relief, disaster reporting, and disaster investigation to relief and pension basically formed a relatively strict set of natural disaster relief procedures arising from the fight against global climate change. After the Zhengde flood, the deterioration and spread of the disaster were effectively controlled under the correct arrangements of local officials, and there was rarely a large-scale severe famine.
Although Zhu Houzhao was absurd and ignored the government and politics, he was not confused at all on major matters. Zhu Houzhao was resolute in his handling of things, cursed Liu Jin, the rebellion of the King of Ping'an and the King of Ning, the defeat of the Mongol princes, and the relief of disasters many times, all of which were major events during the Zhengde period. Moreover, there were still many talents under his reign, which also reflected from the side that there were still commendable points under the emperor's rule.
