Because of her good physical fitness and love of sports, she practiced athletics since she was a child, transferred to Sanda in 1994, came to Wuhan to study at the age of 15, came to the preparatory class of Wuhan Institute of Physical Education, and in 1996, she was admitted to the Wushu Department of Wuhan University of Physical Education and has remained in Wuhan ever since.
She qualified as a national first-class athlete and a national first-class referee at school, and also won the national women's free fighting championship. In the year of graduation, it coincided with the establishment of the women's team by the special police detachment of the Wuhan Municipal Public Security Bureau, and Zhou Yan, who has had a police dream since childhood, passed the recruitment examination and became the first batch of women's swat police team members in Wuhan, and was the youngest team member.

Zhou Yan led the police to control Ding mou and sent him to the hospital for blood testing.
