European Journal of the Heart: Falling asleep before 10 p.m. is at increased risk of cardiovascular disease

Years is a girl who has just entered the workplace, usually work is very busy, as a newcomer to the workplace, there are many things to learn, and there is almost no leisure time during the day, so the time after work every day is precious. After dinner, lie in bed and watch entertainment gossip, brush up on funny videos, and chase after Oba's new drama... The fatigue of a day at work is suddenly gone.

However, her mother's urging every half hour always made her very disappointed: "Years old, 10:30, it's time to sleep", "Years old, 11 o'clock Oh", "11:30, don't look at the phone, sleeping late is not good for your health"...

Gentle mother, even the hypnosis is gentle, but the age still feels very annoying, and she is indifferent to her mother's urging. How can you sleep with only a few hours of free time you have every day? Besides, where do young people go to bed before 12 o'clock now?

I believe that I am not the first to be urged to sleep by my parents, and I certainly will not be the last. In the eyes of many young people, a hard day of hard work, at night it is difficult to have their own time, you can brush the circle of friends to see short videos, but to be urged to sleep by their parents, it is really a very annoying thing, and even some people because they can't stand being urged to sleep by their mothers, angry and call the police.

The reason why Mom and Dad urge us to go to bed is simple: go to bed early and get up early!

But a recent study published in the European Heart Journal-Digital Health* makes this argument somewhat untenable: Data from 100,000 people found that falling asleep before 10 p.m. increases the risk of cardiovascular disease!

European Journal of the Heart: Falling asleep before 10 p.m. is at increased risk of cardiovascular disease

Between 2006 and 2010, the researchers recruited 103,679 participants from the UK Biobank for a follow-up survey to study the relationship between sleeptime and cardiovascular disease risk.

Based on the exclusion criteria for inclusion, the study included 88,026 participants, including 51,214 women (58.2%) and 36,812 males (41.8%), who were between the ages of 43 and 79 years and had an average age of 61 years.

After an average of 5.7 years of follow-up, the researchers found that 3172 (3.58%) participants had cardiovascular disease (including heart failure, myocardial infarction, chronic ischemic heart disease, stroke, transient ischemic attack, etc.), and after studying the time of onset of sleep in these cardiovascular disease patients, it was found that those who slept before 10-11 o'clock in the evening had a 24% increased risk of cardiovascular disease!

When I saw this, I was very happy, and finally I had evidence to convince my mother not to urge herself to sleep anymore! It's a pity that the years are too happy too soon.

Because this study also found that going to bed at 11-12 o'clock in the evening increased the risk of cardiovascular disease by 12%; when going to bed at 12 o'clock at night and later, the risk of cardiovascular disease increased by 25%!

The researchers concluded that the best time to fall asleep is 10-11 pm, too early or too late is not good!

◎ Relationship between sleep period and risk of cardiovascular disease.

Further analysis also found that the association between women's sleep points and cardiovascular disease was stronger than that of men, especially falling asleep after 12 p.m., which significantly increased women's risk of cardiovascular disease.

After reading this report, the old age will still brush her mobile phone and cook drama every day after dinner, and her mother will still urge her to sleep, but the age's sleep time has been advanced from the previous 12 o'clock and 1 am to 11 o'clock, after all, live a little longer to have the opportunity to watch more good dramas.
