Mei Yanfang has been performing on stage since she was 4 years old and has spent 36 years on the performing arts stage. In the hurried 40 years of her life, she has achieved high achievements in the fields of singing, film and television.
Mei Yanfang debuted in 1982 by winning the "First Rookie Singing Competition". From 1985 to 1986, she held her first solo concert, opening fifteen consecutive concerts, breaking the record for the number of Hong Kong singers singing for the first time. From 1987 to 1988, Mui Yanfang set a record of 28 consecutive concerts at the Red Pavilion in Hong Kong, winning the title of "Mei Twenty-Eight".
It was an era that belonged to Mei Yanfang. She constantly broke through herself, with a variety of colorful, fashionable and uninhibited images and bold and avant-garde performances, which opened the first stage of the Hong Kong music scene in the 1980s.
In terms of movies, Mui Yanfang is one of the few actresses who has won the "Queen of Film" award in the mainland, Hong Kong and Taiwan. In Mei Yanfang's acting career, compared with the popular actors of the same period, she is not "prolific", and has only starred in more than forty movies, but almost every one of them is a boutique.
Mei Yanfang's play path is very wide, and the roles of Bai Yunfei in "Xianhe Shen Needle" in "Xianhe Shen Needle" and Bai Yunfei, who are feminine and sexy but heart-wrenching and pitiful in "Rouge Buckle", and Qi Xuanwang, who is disgusted and spit on in "Zhong Wuyan", are all deeply rooted in the hearts of the people.

On Hong Kong's "Avenue of Stars", there stands a statue with and Andrew Lau inscription on the base - Hong Kong daughter Mui Yanfang. The statue and inscription illustrate Mui's importance in Hong Kong pop culture and her recognition.
