In May 2014, locals in Guanyepo chased a hare, which was chased into a grassy field by the crowd. Villagers went into the grass to look for hares, and found a skeleton in the crevice of a boulder, which was later identified by experts as the remains of a martyr who participated in the Changping Resistance War during the War of Resistance Against Japan. Finally, not far from the skeleton, a cemetery was found, which was very simple and had only one name carved into the stone. So how fierce was the battle that year? There are so many tombstones of martyrs and the remains of this martyr who have not been buried here.

In 1939, the Lugou Bridge Incident had been around for 2 years, and the Japanese had great ambitions during this period, thinking of eliminating all anti-Japanese armed forces in China in a short period of time, so as to realize their conspiracy to rule China. At that time, the 115th Brigade of the 40th Army of the National Revolutionary Army was stationed in the guanyepo area, and this unit had experienced hundreds of battles, participated in the Great Wall War of Resistance and the Battle of Taierzhuang, and the brigade commander of this unit was named Huang Shuxun. In April of that year, the Japanese 35th Division, under the cover of numerous aircraft cannons, launched an attack on the nationalist army, and the Changping Blockade Battle was officially launched. In the area of Huangshaling, the officers and men of the 115th Brigade gave the invading Japanese invaders a head-on attack, so the Japanese army left a large number of corpses, or failed to move forward, at this time the Japanese army was angry, a few days in a row to the mountain crazy firing shells, it can be said that a mountain was blown into a scorched earth, but the Chinese defenders did not timidly, the remaining soldiers hid in the crater, continued to fight with the rushing Japanese army, when the ammunition ran out, they smashed the enemy with the rolling stones on the mountain, if the enemy was close, After a few days of holding out, the more than 500 defenders stationed in Huangshaling were all killed. Of course, a similar thing happened in other positions, and Deng Qixian, the chief of staff of the brigade who was also stationed in the position at that time, was also killed on the battlefield, and all the officers and men on the position were martyred.

At this time, Guanyepo became the last line of defense to block the Japanese army, the two sides fought here for more than ten days, and when the battle was fierce, the brigade commander Huang Shuxun stationed at guanyepo's position was bare-chested and machine-gun and strafed at the Japanese army. Finally, after the heroic resistance of all the officers and men, the rampant Japanese army failed to move forward, and the Japanese army was so angry that it used poison gas bombs against the Chinese defenders in Guanyepo, and the garrison troops at that time did not have anti-drug equipment, so most of the officers and men were killed, and later a small number of surviving fighters withdrew from their positions under the leadership of Brigadier Huang and remained behind the enemy army to continue to block.

The Changping Blockade Battle was fierce every day, lasting a total of 49 days, and more than 3,000 martyrs of our army were killed in that battle, and more than 2,000 Japanese troops were wiped out in the case of mismatch between the equipment strength of the two sides and the enemy army, which can be said to be a brilliant battle record.

The remains of this martyr found in Guanyepo in 2014 still maintain the posture of the battle at that time, when everyone present was very shocked, bowed deeply for the martyr, all the circumstances of this soldier, although we do not know, but one thing we know, it is precisely because of their burden forward, because of the sacrifice of all their martyrs, in exchange for our happy life today.
