On December 24, Huawei won the "Global Wi-Fi 6 Market Leadership Award" from Frost & Sullivan, a world-renowned growth consulting firm.
According to the Nikkei Chinese Network, Huawei will expand the scope of Wi-Fi patents and grant the Wi-Fi 6 patents it holds to foreign companies for the first time. Compared with Wi-Fi 5, Wi-Fi 6 supports two-way MU-MIMO, supports OFDMA, WPA3 and other technologies, with increased capacity, lower latency and more stable signal.
Previously, Huawei and Buffalo, a major Japanese wireless communication equipment company, agreed on an agreement on the standard-essential patent (SEP) that is indispensable for providing Wi-Fi 6 services. At present, Bafalo has launched router products that support the Wi-Fi 6 standard.
According to the Wisdom Bud Database, Huawei has so far more than 250,000 published patent applications. According to the latest "Endless Innovation - 2021 Annual Inventory" released by the Wisdom Bud Innovation Research Center, after analyzing the four dimensions of global patent applications, invention patents, PCT applications, and patent citations in the past two years, Huawei ranked first in the above four dimensions and is the Chinese company with the strongest patents.
