On the afternoon of December 28, at the official forum of the Golden Rooster Awards "5G Digital Intelligence New Era - Film Innovation and Development Forum in the Context of the Meta-Universe", hosted by the Organizing Committee of the 2021 China Golden Rooster and Hundred Flowers Film Festival, and hosted by China Mobile Migu Company and Xiamen Wenguang Media Group, a number of guests from the film industry and academia conducted in-depth discussions on this topic.
At the forum, the film industry white paper "2021 Strong Film Road" produced by the Daily Economic News and the Big Data Center of Wanda Film and Television Group was also released. "2021 Road to Strong Movies" also predicts that technology and technology will stir up the big cultural industry.
In the view of Ren Zhonglun, vice chairman of the China Filmmakers Association, the meta-universe is not only a new scene of social life that will be faced, but also a new stage in film creation and production.
The new technologies of each era will drive Chinese films into a new era
"I always believe that technology is the locomotive of film development, and as long as a new technology is produced in each era, it will drive Chinese films and even world cinema into a new era." Ren Zhonglun said.
As early as the 1910s and 1920s, as an important development base for Chinese films, Shanghai generally embraced the achievements of new technologies and machine revolutions, and film itself was the inevitable choice and inevitable result of technological development.
Ren Zhonglun took two works directed by Ang Lee , "Billy Lynn's Halftime Battle" in 2016 and "Twin Killers" in 2019 as an example , to tell the filmmakers' exploration and application of digital technology.

Ren Zhonglun said that when it comes to "Twin Killers", it reflects more of the basic characteristics of the metaverse.
In the film, the hero and his past young image are in two parallel, but mutually influencing and blending real and virtual eras. "Outstanding artists always use new technologies in the early stages of their birth to promote the development of film."
As Ren Zhonglun said, the development of the film industry is inseparable from the promotion of new technologies. Especially in the context of entering the 5G era and ushering in the meta-universe outlet, Chinese films are about to open a new stage of development.
"The vigorous development of the digital intelligence economy has promoted Chinese films to enter a new stage of development, and the 5G era has also spawned a series of advanced technologies for independent innovation, which has greatly affected the pattern and future development of various chains of the film industry." Huang Xiaotian, deputy general manager of China Mobile Fujian Company, said that the imagination space and market opportunities in the film and television industries will multiply in the future.
5G + AR, to create the possibility of realizing the metacosm
The background of the epidemic has brought uncertainty to the global economy, but it is certain that the development of the digital industry has brought good opportunities to the metaverse.
Chen Hong, deputy director of the Key Laboratory of Interactive Technology and Experience System of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications, also believes that the metaverse discussed today has been imagined in many movies. In his view, 5G technology is one of the paths to achieve the metacosm.
Chen Hong's other identity is the secretary general of the T.621 International Standard Industry Alliance, which is committed to building an ecological business framework that brings together creators, consumers and platforms to support the co-creation and co-construction of the future meta-universe. At present, the alliance has issued 3 international standards in the field of culture, has nearly 30 patents, and has 84 enterprises settled.
"Based on the metaverse, on this basis, the digital content expressed in the form of animation can be presented with AR, coupled with the rapid loading and seamless connection provided by 5G technology, through the interactive interface of virtual and real, the form of the metaverse can be realized around." Chen Hong said.

Yan Zhongwei, deputy general manager of China Mobile Migu Company, said that as of now, China Mobile has built more than 700,000 5G base stations, serving more than 960 million users, with 240 million wired broadband users and 370 million 5G package users.
Yan Zhongwei said that based on China Mobile's powerful computing network, Migu has created immersive social interaction for the metaverse, and realized the connection between people, people and things, and things by creating ultra-high-definition video, VR, AR, video ringtones, etc.
Just in November this year, China Mobile Migu officially released the "MIGU Evolution Roadmap" of the metaverse, including the base computing network of the metaverse, a new engine with game interaction characteristics, immersive social interaction for the metaverse, and mixed reality where virtual and reality blend and connect with each other.
In addition, 5G+ movies can not only achieve technical empowerment of movies, but also extend the application of film technology to a wider range of cultural performances. On July 1 this year, in the celebration of the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China, the "Great Journey" was used to achieve "real-time photography, instantaneous guidance, and real-time screen projection" in the "drama performance 5G real-time film shooting" technology.
