History is the memory of things that have been said and done. —Carl Baker
In our ancient feudal dynasty, in order to consolidate his rule, the emperor often added many legends to himself. Some will directly ''god'' their origins, such as Gaozu Liu Bang, who accidentally fell asleep with the descendants of the divine dragon when his mother was in Yun Mengze; some will make a fuss on their own faces, such as the Ming rulers acquiescing to the painter to paint the Ming Taizu Zhu Yuanzhang into a crooked, shoehorn-like strange face.

In fact, there are no dragons in this world at all, just lies made up by Liu Bang in order to deify himself; and Ming Chengzu Zhu Di, Crown Prince Zhu Biao, and Jianwen Emperor Zhu Yunjiao all have a round and rolling flesh face, according to the principle of genetics, Zhu Yuanzhang naturally has a very ordinary round face.
But then again, among so many founding emperors in ancient times, there was indeed one emperor who was really ugly, even ugly to the point that his own mother could not look at it, but he was still an emperor for thousands of years. This emperor was Yang Jian, the founding emperor of the Sui Dynasty.
What did Yang Jian's ugliness look like? According to the Book of Sui, "''A human dragon jaw, with five pillars on his forehead and a shot out of his eyes, a text in his hand, a king, long and short, and deep and deep. ''
To put it bluntly, Yang Jian's forehead is very prominent, and there are five bulging parts that have been inserted all the way to the top of the brain. His jaw was also much longer than normal, and it protruded forward, like a crescent moon. At the same time, his figure is also different from ordinary people, the upper body is slender and the lower body is extremely short.
In 541 AD, the emperor, who was known in history as "ugly", was born at Banjo Temple. It is said that when he was just born, Yang Jian's appearance directly almost scared his mother Lu Shi out of the problem, which was really ugly. Such an ugly child Lu Shi really didn't want it, and directly threw it aside.
Thanks to the production in the temple, when a passing nun saw Xiao Yang Jian who was left unattended, she smiled and said to Lu Shi: 'There must be a great creation in this son's fate, if you don't want to raise it, let me raise it in the temple.' ''
It should be known that Yang Jian's father was named Yang Zhong, the official zhi, the great Sikong, born of the Hongnong Yang clan, a proper aristocratic origin, this kind of large family attaches the most importance to the bloodline. As a result, because he was too ugly, this kind of big family that attached importance to blood did not care about him, and Yang Jian had been living in the temple until he was 12 years old, and he did not dare to go home at all.
When he grew up, Yang Jian was still ugly. When the Northern Zhou Emperor Yuwen Yong heard about it, in order to satisfy his curiosity, he ordered people to paint a portrait of Yang Jian and bring it back to himself. As a result, after the emperor saw the portrait, he asked people to quickly throw the painting out on the spot.
Emperor Wu of Zhou's younger brother Yuwen Xian reacted even more, saying directly: "Pu Liu Ru Jian is very good-looking and cunning. Even because he was afraid of Yang Jian's appearance, he felt that he must be a bad person, so he asked Emperor Wu of Zhou to kill him and properly judge people by his appearance.
Just as the so-called 'people cannot look like the sea is invincible'," although Yang Jian himself looks very ugly, his ability is really outstanding. Yang Jian began to read and write from an early age, and when he grew up, he followed his father everywhere to fight in the battlefield. With the protection of his father and his outstanding performance on the battlefield, Yang Jian, who was not yet 20 years old, became a general of the Hussars.
When it comes to Yang Jian's family history, we have to mention his wife, Dugu Jialuo, which is what we often call the Dugu Queen. If it weren't for the lone garo supporting him and accompanying him, Yang Jian estimated that he would have been unable to stay in the dangerous Northern Zhou for a long time.
Later, Yang Jian's daughter Yang Lihua married the crown prince Yuwen Yun, and after Yuwen Yun became emperor, he made Yang Lihua empress, and Yang Jian naturally became the abbot of the state.
However, Yuwen Yun was not a good emperor, he was very cruel and murderous during his reign, and he was an out-and-out emperor. It didn't take long for Yuwen Yun to make the whole country go into a miasma, and he was addicted to alcohol and destroyed his body, and he died suddenly within a year of his ascension to the throne, and he was only twenty-one years old when he died.
The country was in turmoil, the emperor died, and Yang Jian was very keen to seize the opportunity to ascend to the throne. As a national warrior, the high-powered Yang Jian easily forged the emperor's will and controlled the government as a chancellor. After a year to time, Yang Jian used thunderous means to eliminate all opposition forces inside and outside the imperial court. Subsequently, Yang Jian deposed the eight-year-old young emperor and called himself emperor, who was called Emperor Wen of Sui in history.
Although Yang Jian was ugly, his talent was down-to-earth, during his reign he eliminated the local separatist regime Nan Chen, unified the whole of China, and the chaotic dynasties of the Wei and Jin Dynasties that began at the end of the Eastern Han Dynasty came to an end; he changed the previous system of pushing grace and the nine-pin Zhongzheng system, and created the predecessor of the imperial examination to select talents, breaking the monopoly of the door valve aristocracy on politics; at the same time, he also reformed the central administrative organs, established the three provinces and six ministries system, and his political legacy has influenced our country for thousands of years, and is a veritable emperor of all ages.
