On December 29, the 100 MW/200 MWh independent energy storage power station independently developed by Huaneng Qingneng Institute was connected to the grid at huaneng Huangtai power plant under Huaneng Shandong Branch. This marks the official operation of the world's first 100-megawatt decentralized control energy storage power station.
Energy storage power station put into operation site
The energy storage power station is like a giant "charging treasure". The 1500V decentralized control battery energy storage technology developed by Huaneng Qingneng Institute can carry out independent and refined management of each battery cluster through the modular energy storage converter, which fundamentally solves the pain points such as parallel mismatch and circulation internal consumption that are easy to occur in the actual operation of the battery cluster, and realizes precise control, which can greatly improve the actual availability rate of the battery energy storage system.
Battery clusters are an important part of the overall energy storage system. This decentralized control energy storage power station can control each battery cluster individually, do not let them affect each other, especially to prevent those batteries with poor performance from pulling down the overall power. According to Li Weidong, secretary of the party committee and chairman of Huaneng Qingneng Institute, after the energy storage power station is put into operation, the battery capacity utilization rate of the whole station can reach about 92%, which is 7 percentage points higher than the current industry average. In addition, through the decentralized control of the battery cluster, the automatic calibration of the battery charge state can be realized, which significantly reduces the operation and maintenance workload, and the comprehensive performance indicators reach the international leading level.
Energy storage power station project
The energy storage power station project design period is 25 years, 37 sets of new lithium iron phosphate battery energy storage units, 1 220 kV boost station, the actual scale of the energy storage power station is 120 MW / 212 MWh, the disposable rechargeable capacity is 212,000 kWh, which can meet the electricity consumption of about 1,000 households for a month, and increase the consumption of new energy electricity by 100 million kWh per year, which is equivalent to reducing coal consumption by about 30,000 tons. The project officially started on September 28 this year, with a construction period of 90 days, and the construction period is the shortest and the lowest cost in the first batch of peak shaving energy storage demonstration projects in Shandong Province in 2021.
In addition, in terms of safety and security, the project applies the automatic fire extinguishing scheme of perfluorohexanone, sets up combustible gas detectors, fire detectors, combustible gas emission devices and other facilities, realizes the intelligent linkage between the power station and the fire pump, axial flow fan, and the gas fire extinguishing system in the battery compartment, and comprehensively ensures the safe operation of the power station.
