According to the Southern Metropolis Daily, if Guangzhou Pharmaceutical Group takes over Guangzhou football again, it will become the group's "football three-into-the-palace".
Before being incorporated into the Guangzhou Pharmaceutical Group, Guangzhou Baiyunshan Pharmaceutical Factory signed a "pilot football marketization" with the Guangzhou Municipal Sports Commission in 1984 during the "helm" period of the original director Pei Zhaohan, and jointly organized the Guangzhou team on the condition of sponsoring 200,000 yuan per year, and then from 1984 to 1992, under the name of Guangzhou Baiyun Team, it competed in the A A and A B leagues.
In 2006, Guangzhou Pharmaceutical Group took control of the Guangzhou team, and in 2007, it rushed to the Chinese Super League with the first place in the Chinese League A (winning the first championship in the professional league), but after the rise and fall of the middle and upper reaches of the Chinese Super League, in the anti-black storm of football at the end of 2009, it was revealed that it had participated in playing match-fixing twice in the 2006 season, and the team was relegated to the Chinese First Division the following year, and the Guangzhou Pharmaceutical Group withdrew in the same year.
Recently, Li Chuyuan, chairman of Guangzhou Pharmaceutical Group, said publicly in an interview that the company will further deeply combine football and Traditional Chinese medicine again, which is also the first time that Guangzhou Pharmaceutical Group has spoken out about the "takeover of Guangzhou football".
On August 30 this year, Guangzhou Pharmaceutical Group disclosed that in the company's semi-annual bond report, the company's monetary funds in the first half of this year were 22.683 billion yuan, of which the cash of Baiyun Mountain, a listed company, reached about 20.092 billion yuan in the same period, but if only the parent company is counted, its monetary funds are only 228 million yuan. If Guangzhou Pharmaceutical Group wants to take over Guangzhou Football, it may raise funds through group loans, bond issuance or capital drawn by listed companies. In addition, it is also a way to jointly "take over" with other large local enterprises in Guangzhou.
Although Li Chuyuan claimed that there is "no more specific measure" for Guangzhou Pharmaceutical Group to take over Guangzhou football, if it does take over, it will become the "football three-entry palace" of Guangzhou Pharmaceutical Group.
