Wenzhou Yandang Mountain found Ming Jiajing poetry stele

Recently, a poem inscribed by Huang Guangsheng during the Jiajing period of the Ming Dynasty was found in a homestay in the Dalonghu Scenic Area of Yandang Mountain. Huang Guangsheng (1506-1586), also spelled Mingju, was a native of Jinjiang, Mingquan Prefecture, a famous politician, military figure, and jurist. He served as a counselor of the Zhejiang Provincial Bureau, a counselor of the Zhejiang Cloth Administration, and so on, and was an official to the Shangshu of the Punishment Department, and once rescued Hai Rui, who had been imprisoned for advising Ming Shizong.

Measured, the stele is 38 centimeters high and 51 centimeters wide, written in letters, straight from right to left, a total of nine lines, carved in yin on bluestone, and a seven-word poem. The content is: "Long Xiang Cave / Heaven for the old dragon kai shou cave, long general silver / Han Zhu Shen Yuan." Wind and rain feet lightning / down, sunrise rainbow light tunnel hanging. Stone barrier / deep surrounding the old atmosphere, shearing the peak forever / love. The wildlings also have the knowledge of immortals, Ken/Xu to knock on the cave heavens. /Aoi Peak Yellow Light Liter. / Jiajing Decyl Spring 23rd. ”

In the twenty-second year of Jiajing (1543), Huang Guang served as a criminal inspector, and when he came to visit the Dalonghu Scenic Area of Yandang Mountain, he was impressed by the strange rocks in front of him, the flying waterfalls and the rainbow light and shadows, and was anxious to write the poem. The discovery of this poem adds luster to the cultural landscape of Yandang Mountain.
