According to Burmese media, on December 27, Paing Takhon was sentenced to three years in prison and hard labor.
Born in 1996, Paing Takhon is popular for his handsome appearance. He debuted as a model in 2014 and then crossed over into acting. Because of his outstanding looks, talent and height of 188, Paing Takhon quickly became popular after his debut. Not only does it have a high popularity in Myanmar, but it also often has millions of fans on Facebook and Instagram because of the hot search list of world stars.
In 2018, Paing Takhon was named one of the top 23 most handsome men in South Asia by the American online media BuzzFeed, and in 2019, he was named one of the top ten best actors by the Myanmar Times. In early 2021, he was voted 10th by TC Candler as the "World's Most Handsome Face" in 2020. On December 28, 2021, TC Candler released the 2021 "World's Most Handsome Face" and Paing Takhon took the first place.
At the same time, at the beginning of 2021, Paing Takhon announced that he had been ordained for 10 days, and publicly shaved his hair, even if he was bald, he could not hide the charm of his handsome appearance, and was awarded the reputation of "the most handsome monk on the surface".
In February, Paing Takhon appeared frequently in street demonstrations and posted on social media photos of himself in a white tracksuit, wearing a megaphone, a hard hat and a white furry dog tied to his chest in protest.

Before being arrested, Paing Takhon had posted through social software that his recent physical condition was very poor, but he was still praying for the country every day, hoping that Myanmar could restore peace as soon as possible, and also hoping that fans could pray for me and let me recover my health quickly.
Because of his illness, Paing Takhon returned to his home in Yangon from his temporary retreat and was arrested and imprisoned by security forces shortly after returning home. He has since been held in Insaen Prison in Yangon and tried in a special court within Insaint Prison for Paing Takhon's poor health.
After several trials, on December 27, prosecutors presented a video and photograph of Paing Takhon's participation in the demonstration and asked Paing Takhon if he had participated in the demonstration, Paing Takhon gave a definitive answer, pleaded guilty in court, and then the judge sentenced Paing Takhon to 3 years in prison and hard labor under Section 505A of the Penal Code.
Paing Takhon's lawyer, Khin Maung Myint, said Paing Takhon's family was deeply saddened by the verdict and they were considering an appeal.
